I know many states have already had orders of "stay at home", and no essential services, some of which include real estate. Until this morning, real estate was still on the list for essential services (and our economy). When the new order came down, there was no mention of real estate, so our State Association were in touch with our Governor's office to get clarification. at 11:35 am this morning, there was an updated order adding real estate services. WHEW, hard to know when it is not spelled out!
We had a new Covid-19 addendum added, that was approved by the Colorado Bar Association, but not the Colorado real Estate Commission.
Our MLS shut off the ability to add an open house into the MLS, as the order states, this is not critical.
Checking with our title companies, there are performing closings, just differently. Some will be doing on-line closings, some will have notaries, but one thing is unanimously - no one outside of the immediate clients will be allowed into closings. No REALTORS, no lenders.
This new order put into place today will be in place until 4/11/2020.
Our at-risk neighbors and friends will still need our help, if we can, to bring essential groceries or supplies.
I know my nail person sent me a text letting me know they will again open May 1st, but we shall see if it is by then! It could be an urgent visit!
I think as of right now, we have around 1,000 confirmed cases, and have just about caught up with the back-log of tests, and 19 deaths.
With having more time on my hands, have been texting clients, friends and service providers a message hoping they are safe, healthy and checking in on them. Have had so many great responses, and it has been fun! My photographer said he sure really appreciated checking in, and meant a lot to him!
Take care everyone, we WILL get through this, and soon (I sure hope) will be a distant memory.
