Thanksgiving Fun...Gobble Gobble

This Thanksgiving we’ll have most of the family over for Thanksgiving. (35+) so I’ve been reviewing recipes I’ve made as well as table decorations.

I made these cute Oreo turkeys in 2013 and had forgotten all about them. Back then I had Erin and Megan help me but they are out of college now and I’m going to have to find some new co-crafters if I decide to make them.

They’re not hard to make but if you have a “Larry” around, you’ll need to hide the candy! By the way...I am not a good craftsperson so if I say they're easy...they are.

Here’s what you’ll need:

~A package of Double Stuffed Oreos (they need to be Double Stuffed for the candy corn)

~Candy corn

~Whoppers

~Mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups

~Tubes of chocolate, yellow, and red (optional) icing.

This link takes you to a YouTube video that is very professional but I love the video that I used in a post from 2013. If you have been following Rocky Dickerson's Southern Thang videos, you’ll love this lady.

I loved how casual she is in the video and had fun watching it. Sharon Tara...this one is for you!  Hope you can enlist the Grands to help.

Those are adorabe! They would be awesome decoration but way too much sugar for me to actually have for the kids to eat.

Michael Jacobs I didn't hand out candy corn and still not sure if I'm going to make them.  I didn't even try the scheduler last night...decided to post when in the morning.

Wayne Martin after I read your post, I went to the store for a few items and checked out the cranberry sauce. I found 2 cans of Ocean Spray and some others. Hope you find yours.

Norma J. Elkins that sounds like fun!!! Hope you make them.

Kat Palmiotti they really are easy to make. Depending upon the attention span of the wee ones, you could probably get them to make one each.

Carla Freund I've never made a skillet apple pie!!!  I know we'll have apple and pecan pie and many other desserts.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel or eat them!!!   I may have mini-me over to make some.

Kathy, It is pretty good. There is a crust on the bottom of the skillet that caramelizes with the butter and brown sugar. This is the recipe we've (my daughter & I) used. Skillet Apple Pie

My neighbor always makes us a homemade apple pie with tart cherries. It is amazing and a few more steps than the one we make.

Mark Don McInnes, Sandpoint-Idaho that's just a preliminary head count. However I think some will come by for dessert only after they have dinner at the in-laws. That's ok...the more the merrier.

Roy Kelley Thank you!!!  These are so cute, I may have to try making them again.

Anna Banana Kruchten CRS, CRB, Phoenix Broker the funny thing is...as much as I love chocolate, I have none of what it would take to make those!  I see a trip just to get more candy!!!

Will Hamm it's been too long since we've all been together.  I've seen my central family here but miss the whole bunch.
