According to the National Geographic News service, it seems that what you smell might have an effect on your dreams.

Now I love how they did this study. Researchers gave some sleeping subjects scents of roses. Other sleeping subjects were lucky enough to be given scents of rotten eggs. Well, guess what happened? This, to me, is another DUH! moment.

One of the researchers astutely stated, "If odor has a strong effect on your emotions when you're awake, it makes sense for it to have a strong effect on your emotions when you're asleep." As he said, "It makes sense." DUH! yet again.

I wonder if there's a study out there that has determined that watching scary movies before going to bed leads to nightmares. Or, perhaps, that soft sounds help babies sleep better. Hmmmm. Maybe I can get a research grant to test my hypotheses.

I fear I shall have to cry out loud one more time?

STOP THE INSANITY!
