My favorite Northern Virginia restaurant, hands down is Sweetwater Tavern in Centreville, VA. Sweetwater Tavern is owned by a local company called Great American Restaurants. I remember their very first restaurant in Fairfax--Artie's. I bought my first home about one block from there. Whenever it came time to entertain, I was happy as a clam to walk to the restaurant and treat my guests to a meal.
To say that all of the Great American Restaurants serve nothing but the best is an understatement. Between Sweetwater Tavern, Mike's American, Silverado, Artie's and Carlyle, I have had the best steaks, ribs, salmon, swordfish, chicken, salads and appetizers...just to name a few. … (11 comments)

I have had more than my share of disappointment from the Ruby Tuesday restaurant chain. I live closest to the Gainesville location, and not too far from the Manassas location. Since these are close, I go there when I want a rather guilt-free meal out (I love a salad bar). However, I always end up disappointed.
Last night my husband and I were out and about in the Chantilly area for an event. Afterward, we were starving, and decided to stop by (begrudgingly) to Ruby Tuesday in South Riding. Again, our expectations are usually set very low...so we weren't exactly looking forward … (10 comments)
