art in nature: Friday Fotos-ARt UnDerFooT.... - 11/13/14 07:16 AM
Think small. Think of the first November frost. In the woods. All of the tiny beings edged in white, or spotted like polka dots. UnDerFooT.
The leaf on the left looks almost suspended in air, feeling as if it has just alighted from an autumn breeze.
I call this one Leaf Dance.
Doesn't it look like a bird in mid flight?
Dressed in fur, it seems and so singular, it felt like part of a Native American headdress.
The textures and linear veins of this leaf with the morning sun melting the frost to dewy droplets caught my attention.

art in nature: Fishhawk Lake-The ARt of SpiDer WEbs - 08/23/14 02:43 PM

Fishhawk Lake-The ARt of SpiDer WEbs
After spending a morning up on Greasy Spoon Road in a fall-like foggy dreamland, I noticed with the hazy sun filtering through that there were spider webs catching my eye in my peripheral vision as I would walk along and the glint of the sun would hit them just right and voila! a web would come into view!

Delightful, because at certain angles they were completely invisible. Having grabbed my camera, but not my "cheaters", my eyes were deceiving me and I really had no idea how these photos would turn out.

art in nature: Mother Nature NEVER Goes out of Style! - 05/28/14 10:36 AM
Mother Nature NEVER Goes out of Style!
Think about how many artists, stagers, environmentalists and architects have borrowed from the ever fashionable Mother Nature.

No matter what her age (which is questionable at best), she is ALWAYS di rigueur. And just by being HER, her iconic SELF, she continues to inspire worldwide!

So, whether you go GREEN by recycling

(Wolf art made from bark)
or let Mother Nature inside your home for just a mere touch of ambiance,

she will always reign supreme and as a result, your home,

(Rainforest marble backsplash)
your landscaping,

your WHATEVER will be … (22 comments)

Fishhawk Lake--Art in the Mundane

I grabbed my camera as the morning promised to be bright and sparkly in this winter frost. I found, when searching the ground, little frosty wonders, like crispy brown leaves with white glittering edging. Mother Nature even dresses up the mundane if you're paying attention!

Even dead groundcover can have its own stark beauty if one takes the time to view it from nature's angle.

Watching the sun catch the prisms of frost, it made me think how easy it would be to tell a child that it is … (22 comments)

Fishhawk Lake-Adding to my Nature's Collection
In my blog on Friday, I shared some moments that I've recently been blessed with as wildlife has given me the pleasure of gracing me with its company. Yesterday morning I found something that many don't and it was in the most unlikely of places.
I had finished walking our dogs, Takoda and Kasa and was taking them to their doggie condo. We have a pallet inside the area covered in indoor-outdoor carpet and something caught my eye that had landed there. It was a large dragonfly, different than the two blue ones that had landed on … (17 comments)
