canadian geese: Fishhawk Lake Real Estate-It's Going to the Birds

Today will be a business day at Fishhawk Lake. With the arrival of would-be retirees looking to purchase lakefront property at Fishhawk Lake and a new listing to view (of one of my favorite log cabins), I’m looking at a full day.
So, it was nice to sit outside early this morning at my lakefront property for about a half hour and take in the “sights”. The Canadian Geese, some mallard ducks and a bald eagle, PLUS a Great Blue Heron, all graced me with their presence. There are many types of waterfowl in the coastal range of Oregon that visit Fishhawk Lake during the winter seasons. We always get Canadian Geese in plentiful numbers. We have one goose (not Canadian) who stays here all year and she waits religiously for the rest of the clan to arrive.
They are what I would call “snowbirds” coming south to the warmer temperatures from about November through March or later at Fishhawk Lake around the same time that the yearly salmon spawning takes place at Fishhawk Lake. We must be their Arizona or Florida!

On the morning walk today, there was a cacophony of sounds coming from the higher elevations. It started with the choral coyote chorus from the hilltops up past Fishhawk Lake (where I went hiking last month and found all of the "crap")...first one in a high-pitched howl, then others joined in, each with their own soprano notes. Within seconds, it created a buzz with the Canadian Geese and a flock of over 20 honked loudly in baritones and flew over my head, combining all of the sounds into this uproarious morning choral masterpiece!
