analysis paralysis: Enough Is Enough - 08/05/22 10:39 AM
Enough is enough
It is not pleasant when a transaction fails to close. Thank goodness this does not happen often. In real estate, there are many reasons that settlement may not occur including issues with the following:
Financing, appraisals, condo or  home association, contingencies, inspection, personal conflicts, illness, death, divorce, title issues, code violations, remorse buyer or seller, change in employment or job transfer

But there is another one a bit vaguer.
Analysis Paralysis is the state of over-analyzing or over-thinking.  This condition involves asking many others not involved in the transaction for their opinion.
When decisions or actions are incomplete, the effect paralyzes the outcome, which is unsuitable for buying and selling. … (19 comments)

analysis paralysis: Fish Or Get Off The Yacht - Make A Decision - 11/25/21 01:45 PM
When buying a home, there are many questions.
Ask away but be ready to make a decision.
When you are looking to purchase, make sure you want the house. Contracts are legally binding, and this is not the time to be wishy-washy.
When accepting your offer, the seller takes it off the market, starts packing, hires a moving company, and all the myriad things that go into preparing the family.
Have you talked to anyone who has had a house under contract, and there is buyer remorse? It can be devastating.
They have trusted you, your agent, and your legally binding offer.

analysis paralysis: Congratulations...Not So Fast - 08/18/19 08:34 AM

So you have an offer. It's been negotiated, agreed to by all parties, and ratified.
Congratulations!

Whoa!  Not so fast.
Getting the property under contract is the first big step, but it's far from sold.
Now the work begins. There are general home inspections, radon, septic, termite, etc. There is still more... title exam, survey,  review of condo and HOA documents. There is loan approval, appraisal, lender requirements, and many others. Each one has a time and date to move forward and sometimes you have to stop!

Have you heard of buyer's remorse?

When that buyer can not make up their mind, it may be called analysis paralysis. They … (24 comments)

analysis paralysis: Three Examples of Challenging People - 08/10/19 09:32 PM

Some people are more challenging to work with than others.
Below are three examples.

#1
The person who trusts no one.
The sooner you figure this out, the better.
In the middle of a difficult divorce, a seller wanted someone to represent her like I represented the previous seller. She was 100%  sure she wanted to sell and 100% she wanted to use me.
But when it came time to answer some necessary questions:
How much was still owed?
Are you current on your payments?
Who could legally sign?
Any other liens on the house?
She was not willing to share the information.
Her comment: You just … (32 comments)

It is not pleasant when a transaction fails to close. Thank goodness this does not happen often. In real estate, there are many reasons that settlement may not happen.
Here are a few of our challenges...

=Financing
=Appraisals
=Condo and association issues
=Contingencies
=Home inspection
=Personal crisis -illness, death, divorce
=Title issues
=Code violations
=Buyer and seller remorse
=Change in employment or transfer

But there is another one that is a challenge to deal with.

=Analysis Paralysis which is the state of over-analyzing or over-thinking.  This  goes along with involving and asking many others, not involved in the transaction, for their opinions.  Decisions or actions are not completed  and the effect paralyzes the outcome. This  does not mix well with buying and … (30 comments)
