Recently contacted by this stager for one of my beautiful but vacant homes, we decided to work together.
Had I previously seen her colors, furniture and accessories, I may not have proceeded. But I thought of myself, also an artist, and wanted to give her that same freedom to create and show off her best.

It might seem a bit slow at this time in December but there are still buyers and sellers looking at real estate.
How do I know?
Several calls today, letting me know they are looking for a home and also that they will be putting their property on the market after the New Year!
Some need to sell prior to buying.
Others need to buy prior to selling.

In Maryland we have a Real Estate Commission checklist which is printed below.
Does your state have similar rules? How closely are they followed? How are they checked?
The reason for this is to protect the public...to make sure the agent and broker can easily be contacted. And to makes sure the information is accurate. The advertising is submitted by the broker to make sure of compliance prior to release.

What a pleasure closing a transaction with such a knowledgeable, kind and competent team of professionals.
Two of these professionals are active ActiveRain members. Please take time to read John's post below on how we got to closing on a contract ratified on October 31st...yep that's Halloween and it closed November 29th!
That's 29 days with the Thanksgiving holiday the prior week. And this was not cash.
We handled a home inspection, an appraisal and a few bumps that needed smoothing.
Thankful for the entire team, making first-time homebuyers and original sellers very happy.

Thankful for my "team" but I am a solopreneur.
Some say the only way to be a success is to be the leader of a real estate team.
Here is my team!
My team members consist of my bookkeeper, my lenders, my title companies, my professional photographers, my contractors, my inspectors, my computer company, my website manager and the co-op agents on the other side of the transaction.
Another part of my team is my advertising, my blogging, and my weekly radio show.
Sellers and the listing broker, become partners...another word for a team.
Sellers need to feel good about their choice of agent.
For me, being a solo broker is ideal.

As many of you know, real estate was not my first career.
The first started many years ago when my goal was to be a nurse. And I filled that goal, became a Pediatric RN and then a head nurse. Loved it.
Nursing actually prepared me for life. And it was probably the best at teaching me how to sell. Think about it. If one can convince a patient, especially a child, to take a yucky tasting medication or even an injection because it is going to make them feel better...that is a kind of selling.

It was an all-day event at the 2018 Realtor® Fair
When registering for classes, John Kleinberg was in line and we had signed up for the same three classes.
The day was filled with information, food, CE credits, and networking.
Our first class was Broker Supervision, 3 hours, by Scott Lederer & Steve Meszaros. They packed in a lot of information and were complimentary in their presentation. They had a great handout and followed it..made the time go by quickly. To save time, we were able to bring lunch back to the classroom at our break.

Not only did we meet a lot of very interesting people who, like us, support the wonderful work of Second Chance but we also toured the 200,000 square foot building. We found a few treasures and watched videos of special employees that have been given a second chance. We listened to a great band, enjoyed food and drink and had a really good time.

This week my special beach house in Chesapeake City was shown by Joe Kowalczk C21 New Millennium.
My wonderful sellers changed their plans after Joe called to make an appointment.
And the same evening, after his busy day with clients, Joe called to share how much he enjoyed 5131 Breezy Point Rd.... the way it was maintained and how it was a turn-key move-in right-now property.
