The site of the 2009 National Convention for the National Association of Realtors will be right here in downtown San Diego at the Convention Center. My marketing guru (Russel Ray) and I are hoping for good great atttendance from the ActiveRain community. So I have created a new ActiveRain Group for those coming to, or thinking they might be coming to, the Convention. Feel free to post questions about San Diego, or to ask us for pictures or opinions of hotels you are considering, places to go, things to do, wildlife to see, etc.
As the Convention gets closer, and during the Convention, this can be a place to make contact with each other, arrange to meet, etc. Russel and I are hoping to host at least one trip to the San Diego Zoo on one of the four days of the Convention. If you come to San Diego earlier, or stay later, let us know and we might be able to go out for a meal or play docent for a day. Click here to join the new NAR 2009 Convention in San Diego Group.

I'll be there in spirit! I know you will have a great time connecting with your cyber buddies, I know I would! Eventually.....
I certainly wish I could be there. I know you will bring us the highlights of the convention. Business and personal obligations are taking priority right now. Hope to visit some time in the not too distant future.
Since I'm not a Realtor I won't be there for the convention but the wife and I are planning a trip to San Diego for our 10th wedding anniversary which is in a couple of years. I am soooooooo hoping that Santanas near the Sports Arena is still there. Eating there will be worth the trip alone!!!
Glad to see you started the Group. It should be a lot of fun meeting lots of people from the Rain.
What a great idea! I'm trying to find out if it is something I can put into works this year. As a Virtual Assistant, it would behoove me to get there. I attended once a few years ago and received leads for years after.

Hey, Janna - We welcome your spirit. I'm hoping that you'll be able to check in on the Group and visit the Convention as well.
Hey, Joan - I don't blame you for not wanting to travel all the way across the country when you have business and personal things to do back home anyway.
Hey, Dan - I'm sure there will be home inspectors at the Convention other than my marketing guru. Actually, I heard through him that InterNACHI is going to have a big booth there. If you're talking about Santana's Mexican Food, the only one we have here that I know of us in Pacific Beach. They have a very good reputation. I wonder if they moved from Sports Arena up to PB.
Hey, Renae - I would think you could get tons of business from networking at such a convention. Just bring a billion business cards and slip one under each door in the nearby hotels - LOL.
I attended the convention in San Francisco a few years ago and it was a great event. I am looking forward to San Diego this year, a city I love (I am outside Washington DC in Virginia). As a commercial Realtor, I am pleased to see NAR including commercial topics this year.
Can't wait, working on planning the trip. It will be great to meet people in person.
Hi Jim, just found this group through a link in one of your other posts. Anyway, I'm registered and working on my schedule. There's just sooo much to do and see....
Hi, Jim:
Good idea! I'll be working on my trip in the next couple of days, and I definitely would love to get a trip to the zoo in while I'm there.
Cheers,
Robin
