There are a lot of moving parts to know about and consider when purchasing a home and applying for a mortgage.  There's the mortgage application itself, the requests for information and documentation, the processing and underwriting, seeking the loan approval, and finally closing.
 
No doubt, it's a lot for buyers to digest at once.  So it should come as no surprise that borrowers have a boatload of questions to ask along the way.

It also marked the beginning of the 30-day window for filing an appeal for those property owners that might be dissatisfied with their property's value assessment. (Note:  Appeal Deadline is February 14, 2020)

When prospective borrowers first contact me, their main focus is often on the following 3 things ...  
What their prospective total monthly housing expense will be   What money they'll need to buy/finance a home The chances of their being approved for a mortgage   
They have a laserlike focus on these 3 facets of the process.  As a result, I typically find it's best to immediately address their concerns.

The topic of "borrowing power"  and questions surrounding "how much home I can buy" are raised almost immediately by prospective mortgage clients during our first conversation together ...  
It's understandable and natural.  They're excited and anxious.  That's especially true when the client is a first-time home buyer.   
  
Most are laser-focused.  Their ultimate goal is to find out:  
 
"What's the maximum amount of money I can borrow?"  Or when purchasing, the question is often simply, "What price of home can I view?"  Again, that's understandable.
