Who wouldn’t enjoy free live music in a beautiful Carlsbad park on a Friday summer evening? What a winning combination for summer entertainment!
And that’s what the 36th season of Carlsbad’s TGIF Concerts in the Parks series is all about.
The Concerts are presented by the City of Carlsbad’s Cultural Arts Office. Not only are the free concerts great entertainment, but the raffles held at intermission raise funds for Carlsbad art programs.

The first day of summer is June 21, and the annual TGIF Concerts in the Parks series starts 2 weeks later.
No doubt the free TGIF Concerts in the Parks are a highlight of summertime in Carlsbad.
This free outdoor concert series may be the best entertainment option around North San Diego County! Indeed, the series was voted the 4th best outdoor concert series in the US in the 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards by USA Today for 2023.

Many no doubt now know, and are pleased, the annual TGIF Concerts in the Parks series is back for 2022. The concerts were canceled in 2020 and were virtual last year.
These free TGIF Concerts in the Parks are a highlight of our Carlsbad summers, and have been for several decades. In fact this concert series could be the best summer entertainment available in North San Diego County!
The bands were just announced for 2022, with some crowd favorites returning:

There’s no doubt the free TGIF Concerts in the Parks are a highlight of summertime in Carlsbad. Plus it’s exciting to have the live concerts again after being canceled in 2020 and only virtually in 2021.

The TGIF Concerts in the Parks have been a popular staple of the summer entertainment season for many years in Carlsbad. Typically there are 9 free outdoor concerts in 4 of our best parks on consecutive Fridays from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The park venues changed a few years ago when they added Alga Norte Community Park to the mix, making it 4.

Starting Tonight
This first concert features the Stoney B Blues Band and will be held at Stagecoach Community Park at 3420 Camino de los Coches off Rancho Santa Fe Road across the street from the shopping center. The next 2 concerts, June 29 and July 66, are at the same park.

TGIF Concert in the Parks Series Tonight July 21 in Carlsbad
The free TGIF Concerts in the Parks are a big part of our Carlsbad summers, and probably the best entertainment option around in North San Diego County – they are FREE and held in 4 of Carlsbad’s largest parks.
And tonight’s concert is #5, beginning at 6 PM and running until approximately 8 PM with intermission midway. More on that in a moment.
Tonight’s concert is the 3rd and last one at beautiful Poinsettia Community Park.

It's a summer Friday, July 15th and that means hats, horses and country rock!
No one can gripe about not having something fun to do today and tonight!
Today may be THE social event of the season, or the year, here in San Diego, with OPENING DAY at the Del Mar Races, a tradition here for decades. The freeway will be jammed, as will the Coast Road and the Coaster commuter rail as throngs of people head for the Del Mar Race Track.

I could easily say ANY time of year is special in Carlsbad, for one reason or another. There is so much to see and do, and for many just having the beach close by or at their dorostep is special enough.
