More Valentine Cheer from Anna Banana
This morning, I was dead beat tired as you might have read about in Valentine Desk Surprise. After arriving at the office and finding my surprise (read the post to see how fun a desk can look) I started going about my morning routine and then I realized I forgot to mail my sisters birthday present.
Yikes! I'd better rush to the post office before my 11:00 client is scheduled to come in to write a contract. Do I have enough time - it would be tight. I arrive at the post office and low and behold it was full of school children all in red shirts. Hearing the laughter and giggles made me smile BIG as I ducked quickly into the mail room.
Sure enough, there was a guy shipping out a whole bunch of stuff with only one attendant on duty, and one person ahead of me. Yikes! Hope this works- because I sure want don't want to be late for my client. Breathe Banana Breathe.....ahhhhh. Now that's better.
All of a sudden I heard a great big loud noise coming from where the school kids were congregating. It brought my attention back to the little cuties and I had a straight line of site on them. The Post Master was saying something to the kids that was making them scream, laugh and they were jumping up and down and running all over. Now this was fun! What the heck were they so excited about?
The Post Master got them all lined up in front of a big mailing container.
Each of the kids had an envelope in their little sweaty hands and they were waiting (impatiently I might add) to be the ONE who was NEXT to be given a stamp to put on their envelope. The Post Master gave each child an extra special handshake when it was their turn. Most of the kids had to be held up to reach the top of the mail box - and of course you know who at this point - helped kid after kid up to the top. This guy was good! He made each child feel so proud about whatever they were mailing! You could just see it in their smiling eyes. I wished I had my camera with me to capture the kids excitement.
Oh wait - what was I doing here - I was up next and had to pay attention to getting my package mailed! By the time I was finished mailing my sisters package the kids were finished mailing their important letters. Then I thought - hey why don't I take few shots with my phone camera? Plus I wanted to find out what they were mailing that got them so excited.
And that's when the noise started all over again! They got all excited about me taking pictures and asking them guestions about their important letters. Yikes I was causing all kinds of trouble for the student teachers - but they were all smiling! Sure wish I would have had a banana suit in the car - this would have been a perfect opportunity to spread banana cheer. We love doing this for schools and special events. Kids go wild when they see the banana's in a bunch. You'd think we were rock stars!
By now I'm sure you guessed what they were mailing, right? What's your guess!
