I came across this cow yesterday, she is named "Save the Mooosic". She sits outside of the once milking parlor at The Silo in New Milford, CT, where I was yesterday for the opening of the show Inspirations. The reception was fantastic, I was very impressed with everything. If you didn't make it to the opening reception, you still have time to get up there and check it out!
I wandered around inside the gallery, got a tour of the cooking school (oh my that food at the show was deeee-licious by the way), then meandered outside for a bit.
That's when I saw her....
A colorful head poking out of the bushes, I had to get closer. Isn't she a beauty? I do believe that is Skitch Henderson on her side. After all, The Silo and Hunt Hill Farm was the beloved home of Skitch for years, until his death in 2005. He and his wife Ruth (who still lives there) worked tirelessly in the community here, in addition to his work at the New York Pops, and he was a well loved figure in the area. The Silo is quite an interesting place, if you have never been, you should go. A cooking school, store and art gallery, all contained in the old barn. As a matter of fact, the cooking school is the old milk parlor.
I was too busy stuffing my face and gawking to get photos of the event, but I am glad I managed to get photos of this beautiful gal. She is from Cows on Parade, her plaque says she is from the 2000 New York City Show, and was painted by Anna Yglesias. I have been lucky enough to see the Cows on Parade in New York City, really quite impressive I might say. I think we need Cows on Parade in New Milford, all up and down the green!
For now, this will do. Isn't she udderly fantastic? All in all, a very moo-ving experience at The Silo at Hunt Hill Farm yesterday!
