Alameda Point Antiques Faire September 2, 2012
Alameda Point Antiques Faire on September 2, 2012 was a gorgeous day for shopping, browsing and people watching. The day started out foggy and cool but quickly became warm. Across the Bay the fog didn’t lift and I never did see San Francisco. I am pretty sure it is still there since we didn’t have an earthquake which might have taken the City away.
I arrived at the parking lot at 8:15 am and it seemed crowded. However, the line to buy tickets was short. Everyone was happy to be there with shoppers anxious to see what was available today. I saw many of the things I had seen in the past. All wonderful stuff, but not right for my house. I did find a cute pillow reasonably priced which I could not pass up. It will be perfect for my home office, if I ever finish it.
I noticed that there were a few new things at several booths. Home built garden potting tables seemed to be a new popular item in many booths. Very cute. There were textile booths and lots of booths with pillows which are still going strong. All booth owners were very gracious and allowed me to take any pictures I wanted.
I had a wonderful two hours of people watching and taking pictures. I noticed as I left at 10:00 am that there was now a huge line and of course the many more people. I was exhausted and happy that I walked to aisle Z. I decided that there may be more after Z, but not for me today. Next time maybe.
The next Antiques Faire will be October 7, 2012. The show is always the first Sunday of the month. If you have the time and the endurance to shop all day you should come to Alameda and join the fun. For information about the faire, call 510-522-7500.
Alameda is a lovely community with good schools, pristine sand beach, an historic movie theater, coffee shops and great restaurants.
