Postage Stamp Increase - January 26, 2014
Effective Sunday, January 26, 2014 mailing a first class envelope will cost you an extra three cents going from .46 to .49. Here is the a chart from the United States Postal Service showing the rate changes.
It will be necessary to have a few one cent stamps on hand for mailings. Post cards and mailings to Canada and Mexico increased a bit more.

I would not mind paying fifty cents per delivered letter, unfortunately I stopped doing most of our mass mailings when we started getting 40% of them returned, not due to people moving but rather due to lazyness in varous local post offices.

Hi Joan, I do a lot of just listed and just sold cards and I bought up a good supply before the new year. I have a few months worth so at least I won't be dealing with it again until March or April.
Joan, it seems like I am always looking up photos of old stamps to try and determine their value as I attempt to use my old stamp inventory. I am so glad we can buy Forever Stamps!
We do lots of farming for listings and cost to send, direct mail is always part of the bottom line. We get excellent service in this country. Where I live, Canadians come over to do their mailing on this side of the border.

Great timely reminder and I love the idea of sending your SOI some one cent stamps with your next mailing. I'm sure thats a perk that will be super appreciated.

Hello Joan - seeing this post from ten years ago makes me glad I stocked up on forever stamps. Hopefully, they will last for a long time.
