Fall Has Arrived In Middletown Connecticut, and now is in the process of transitioning into Winter.  I posted my  "First Progression of Fall Blog Of 2014 on September 26th", and the first picture above is of the trees just before they began to change color.  I took the second picture a couple of weeks later, and posted it in my "Second Blog Of The 2014 Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown, CT".  The trees had began to change, but there wasn't much of a change yet.  By the Third Blog Of The 2014 Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown, CT, the change in colors had started to be much more noticeable.  Last week the color change was even more noticeable in my Fourth Blog Of The 2014 Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown, CT.  This week in the Fifth Blog Of The 2014 Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown, CT,the trees are starting to lose their leaves, and we are seeing less color than the week before.
The peak of the Fall Colors actually happened mid week on this spot, but the weather was rainy, windy, and very overcast.  So I was not able to get a good picture during the week, and missed the peak of the colors.  This year the weather just did not cooperate enough, but the pictures do continue to show the progress our trees go through in the Fall.

I started doing this series of the progression of Fall colors Two years ago, and hope to continue this series for years to come.  The first two years the pictures were of a farm which is only about a minute walk from my house.  This year I decided to change the location for my 2014 Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown, CT. to a lake about 5 minutes from my house.  I have continue to post pictures of this same spot throughout the Fall to show the progression of the Fall colors this year.

Fall is a beautiful time of the year in New England, but the last couple of years have only been average years for Fall colors.  I have become spoiled by the beautiful colors we normally see during the Fall, and even though the last couple of years the colors were OK, this year the colors were outstanding.  The spot this fifth picture was taken has not changed as much as some other areas in town, but still gives a good representation of the colors we are so use to seeing, and many times take for granted.

Anyone planning to come to New England to enjoy our Fall colors should plan on coming this last week of October if they hope to still see some of the beautiful colors.  The trees have been turning color much fast this year, so by the first week in November most of the trees will have lost their leaves. My favorite colors are the trees with yellow, orange, and rust color leafs when they blend together.

Fall is now on its way out of Middletown Connecticut as you can see in this Fifth Blog Of The 2014 Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown, CT., and Winter will soon set in.  I hope those following my series of the progression of Fall colors, will enjoy the experience of seeing the change in colors of our trees here in Middletown, CT along with me.

Good morning George. The color for the most part has already peaked or as an old times said to me yesterday, the levels are well done. For sure some a term I had ever heard before.

George, the red in the trees sure makes your photos POP!   We had a few trees on my street this year that turned red, and made the neighborhood very attractive.

Beautiful pictures.  Yes, those leaves are falling and I think we've gone beyond the peak.  Great progression.

Beautiful colors, George. For some reason our colors in Charlotte are not that spectacular yet this year--they were last year. But there's still time...

George love the colors and the progression is a great way to highlight Fall in Middletown CT.  The rain really messed things up last week.

I am looking forward to next year progression photo.

Have a great Sunday.

George, we have passed peak on this side of the state. I think the wind and rain had a lot to do with it.

Hi George,  The same thinghappened in northern Indiana.  We had a lot of rain, when the colors peaked.  The winds blew  lot of the leaves off during the bad weather.

Pretty soon the beautiful colors will be traded in for lots of white.  Hopefully it won't be long before the green comes back!

Nice job George! Although in the 4th picture it looks like the colors peaked, I appreciate the fifth photo because of how the colors seemed to take a final dip into the water and that's what makes it very impressive to me.

George - I love the transtional pictures. Nicely done.  I was in Mass over the weekend and found the colors to be quite dull. Even where I am in CT there's a lot more rust and 'brown' this year. Not a lot of vibrancy. We even still have a LOT of green! Not looking forward to all the shades of grey.... and white.
