One of my main contributions here on Activerain was focusing on writing tutorials and how to blog posts for agents and lenders in my local market. One day, I got a call from another ActiveRain member, Colleen Kulokowski who suggested I write for the entire community.
So I did.
I must have written more than 200+ blog posts that ranged from SEO tips to setting up a profile. Next thing I know, I was employed here at Activerain for about 4 years. I spent the majority of my time helping grow the community and creating content to help other members.

Back in the day, when I was the full-time community manager here working with Bob Stewart and Jonathan Washburn, I had more fun than I think one person should be allowed to have. Working with the staff and AR members was an incredible and fun experience. Everyday was something new and usually unexpected.

How are you keeping it updated and current? What happens to that post when the home is sold? Does your post still show up in the SERPS? (Search Engine Results Page) If so, how useful is that to a consumer or potential prospect and client?

I want to take a moment here to wish Jon Washburn ALL the very best in his new and future endeavors. Jon Washburn and Bob Stewart brought me into the rain, gave me shelter during the storm, then encouraged and supported me while I helped them build and grow this great network.

It was February of 2007 when I wrote my first Blog post here on ActiveRain. Hardly seems like four years could have gone by this quickly. I realized today that all the time and information I have contributed here is pale in comparison to all that I have learned and the relationships I have made. In a time not long ago, when the crops were dry, and communities were losing their families and neighbors, Rainmakers were the individuals that were looked up to and counted on for saving their people. ActiveRain Updates a few new features
There were a few changes and updates made to the network yesterday both internally and for members. Just wanted to make sure you knew about them in case you hadn't noticed already.
The first of which is pretty obvious are the New Badges. They have been moved from covering the upper corner of your photo and placed below the photos now. This should help those members whose photos were being interfered with by the old badges.

While I was away this week at Inman Real Estate Connect, Jon informed me that our members broke and set a new Community Record. We have seen so many great thresholds crossed this year. The first was having our One millionth Blog post by Brandon Farmer. Then we reached the 2 million plus monthly visitors mark to ActiveRain. A few weeks back, I received a Facebook notification regarding a new message on my wall. Now does that sound Social networky or what? lol~ Anyway, it was an old friend and past client who was asking me for a referral in an area close by. Of couse I looked up Linda on ActiveRain, and referred her over to Tom. Yesterday, I get a Facebook notification that there's a new comment from Tom on my wall again.
