Baseball Opening Day. New fans! - 03/31/11 08:48 PM
WE went to the Minnesota Twins pre season fest.
WE had a great time and met many of the players, old and new.
But the greatest thing to see was the NEW twins fans...
These young fans love T.C., the Twins Mascot.  It was fun to listen to these young ones talk baseball.  Many of these kids are very well informed.
It is good to see our National Sport still popular with the kids. That is where it all starts!

Maybe this old Fossil can learn new tricks. - 03/31/11 12:27 PM
Grade Schoolers.  Sometimes I think that every home should have one.  Well, at least for a few hours every week.
I was trying to do something on the computer and my Grand Daughter was waiting for me to get done.  At 10 going on 18, she finally asked what I was trying to do.
I showed her what I was trying and how it was not working.  She asked me to again show her the 15 steps I was doing.
Then she asked me to move over.  When showed me 3 steps and what I had been fighting was done.

My WISH BOOK came in the mail today! - 03/30/11 06:14 PM
WAH HOOO!  My Wish Book came in the mail today.  I am sure you know what that is.  But for those who don't, it is a catalogs from a company that you enjoy shopping at.
For me that means some form of sporting goods.
For today that means....

My first Wish Book was a Montgomery Wards Catalog.   It was the toy issue.   Surprised?
Inside ther was everything I 'wished' I could have.
Today is no different.  Last year when I started my wish list, I quit after I hit $7500 and I had not even got past the rods and … (15 comments)

Life is Litreral, but not all signs should be taken that way. - 03/27/11 08:36 PM
Have you ever seen a sign and think..What the...?
Some signs just don't seam to make any sense in the place they are put.   Example...
An Airline hired a new Stewardess.  A young blonde.  After the flight everyone went to the hotel and caught some sleep.  The next morning the new stewardess was no where in sight.  It was getting close to loading time and the new attendant was still no where in sight.
The pilot called the hotel and got a hold of the new hire and asked where she was.
"I can't get out of the room she cried."
"What … (12 comments)

OK, so who has it right? - 03/27/11 01:58 PM
A man sitting on a fence watching the world pass by is approached by a lady in a car asking for directions.   After receiving the directions she asks..."Do sit on this fence often?"  to which the old gentleman replies.
"Yes Ma'am, everyday most of the day."
"Well", she says, "I travel all over the country and I see a lot of scenery.  Sitting in one place all the time, well, sounds a bit boring."
The older gentleman looks at her for a second and then replies...
"Ma'am, I sit here on the fence and watch the cars go by.  You sit … (11 comments)

Is the Real Estate market really as bad as they say? - 03/25/11 07:21 PM
This is a WIDE open question.   The answer is something like this.
Every area is different.  It depends on the available jobs, the need and want, the number of homes for sale at the time and a host of other things.
I have seen communities that have nothing going on, but 10 miles down the road business is good.
Today, I wrote an offer on a foreclosure.  Needed a good amount of work and was price a bit High I thought.
We ended up being one of six offers.  We were 10% above list and we ended up being 3rd in line.  … (10 comments)

Was it good for you? (Humor) - 03/25/11 05:21 PM
I had one of my favorite appointments today.   An elderly couple.
The man is telling me the stories and the wife is rolling her eyes.  CLASSIC!
WE went out to the out building to look around.  His wife had stayed behind.  So the husband starts in...
Here about the Elderly guy that went into the ladies house of pleasure.   The guy says, "I would like to hire one of your ladies."
The madam looked at him and said, "Wow, you look all done in."
"Oh, replied the man, then how much do I owe you."
Of course I laughed as it … (13 comments)

The Latest Minnesota Snowfall. - 03/24/11 07:45 PM
The last snowfall put Minnesota, At least Minneapolis area, at the 5th on the list of season snowfall.
With all the rain in the fall and during the winter months, flooding is expected at record levels.  Taht was before the last snowfall.
My area got over 12 inches and it was figured about 2 inches of water in that snow.
This spells disaster for the flood areas.  The only good thing is that temps have been predicted to be much colder only barely above freezing.  This will allow the rivers to dump some of the water and maybe tame the flooding … (7 comments)

A four letter word for spring. - 03/23/11 10:03 PM
In today's world it seams that the media and other outlets are so worried about the 'four' letter words being used.
Now, don't get me wrong, I am no prude, but they make a valid point.   The use of four lettered words seams to be spreading and not necessarily in a good way.
Especially in movies and books, and even here on this sight we see some of it.
So...In keeping with what is now almost a tradition...
What is a four letter word for Spring...?

Is your home in the flood area...Have you protected your well? - 03/20/11 05:47 PM
One of the most ignored things on flooded properties is the well.  Very few people realize that your well needs to be taken care of if flooding is going to happen.
Most well are not sealed tight on top.  They have a cover that fits fairly tight, but, will still allow waster into it.
When water floods an area, some of the water can and does get into the well and the contamination can be devastating.  not only can the ground water seeping into the well head ruin your well, but it can ruin the wells of neighboring properties as well.

It is the calm after the storm. - 03/20/11 04:48 PM
It was a Birthday weekend and the house was full.  We had a great time and I even git in some business without disrupting the celebration.
Now, everyone is gone and it is quiet.  The weather is cloudy and misty and with all my business all caught up I am thinking of taking a nap.
The tough part is that it has been so long since I have taken a nap, I am not sure I remember how.
Well, there is only one way to find out....

Are you a good sport or a wet blanket. - 03/19/11 07:59 PM
We had a Birthday party for a St. Pat's day family member.
My Grand Daughter bought this great hat and no one would wear it.  I became the only one to do so.  I felt like Dr. Seuss and the Cat in the Hat.
They did serve Green Deviled Eggs and Ham, so I did fit right in.

Something so simple as wearing a goofy hat made someone else really proud.

I was told that I don't need MLS exposure! - 03/17/11 09:08 PM
I almost dropped my false teeth when a seller told me this during my presentation.
"My neighbor told me that the MLS is a waste of time."   "What company does he work for and how long has he sold real estate?"  I asked.
''Oh, he doesn't sell Real Estate , he is a mechanic."   (WOW What a surprise)
Once again some back yard professional is trying to tell people what they should do.  A back yard professional that has NO IDEA what the Profession of Real Estate has done for buyers and sellers all over our great country and into other … (54 comments)

The Have's and Have not's! - 03/11/11 05:55 PM
This is an oldie, but a goodie!   We sometimes forget how lucky we are in this country.  With the disaster in the world today...we need to remember some of this...
With Money you can buy a house, but not a home.
With Money you can buy a clock, but not time.
With Money you can buy a bed, but not sleep.
With Money you can buy a book, but not knowledge.
Wtih Money you can buy a doctor, but not goo health.
With Money you can buy a position, but not respect.
With Money you can buy blood, but not life.

Lexiphiles... - 03/10/11 05:39 PM
Just a few things to make you realize that all is not as it seams.
To write with a broken pencil it pointless.
When fish are in schools they sometimes take debate.
A thief that stole a calender got twelve months.
When the smog lifts in Los Angeles, U. C. L. A.
The professor discovered that her theory of earthquakes was on shaky ground.
The batteries were given out free of charge.
A dentist and a manicurist were married...They fought tooth and nail.

A smile with a lot of truth for the day. - 03/09/11 09:10 AM
There are a lot of funnies going around about the high gas prices.  Many hit close to home and also make a lot of sense.
Most of these I have seen before, but this is a new one.  It shows, I believe, the difference between NEED and WANT and much of the waste that we as Americans indulge in.
At any rate...I found this funny because I know the older guy in the cartoon.

Help me become more GREEN!!!! - 03/06/11 05:29 PM
I had a large barn fire in December and as I am getting ready to rebuild, I am looking for ways to incorporate more ways to be energy efficient and self sufficient.
So, I would like anyone who has worked with any kind of green energy options that have SUCCEEDED to assist me with any websites I could check into.
GEO-THERMAL will not work for my home setup.  I am looking wind and maybe some solar.  I will be purchasing an outdoor wood boiler to heat the house and shop and I am looking for options other than what I may already … (9 comments)

He is having second thoughts! - 03/04/11 08:40 AM
A good friend got married a bit over a year ago 44 and single, he jumped in the frying pan with both feet.
Our circle of friends gave him all the encouragement he needed..."What?!  ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?!!!"
But, he didn't listen.  Last night he was crying in his beer because he had to miss a Basketball game that he had front row seats in just to go to a party with his wife.
Why didn't you guys stop ME?!"  Oh well they never listen.  Case in point...

Are you planning your garden yet? - 03/03/11 12:34 PM
I know in the warmer climes, some are already thinking about putting the seeds in the ground.
But, How about in the middle and northern latitudes.  NOW is the time to be thinking.   Seed Catalog's are out and seed packets are in most all the stores.  But, there are many thing to think about before you even purchase seeds.
1) Did your garden do as well as you thought it should have last year?
2) Did you plan for the fertilizer you need? (Including the lawn?)  The price is climbing already.  Watch your sales!
3) Do you think you need some … (9 comments)

Well, My Wife is happy it is a slow Real Estate day! - 03/02/11 02:04 PM
Now don't get me wrong, usually she is adamant about me finding some business.  But she has an alterior motive today.
TAXES!  I hate working on them although, once I get started I can be done in a few hours.  (On going record keeping)  All I need to do is re-check my stuff and I am done.
It is the household stage that I dislike.  It doesn't matter what we do, at the end of the year it is still a mess and a big chore.
But, I have an idea to fix it all for next year.
I am sending … (15 comments)
