Speechless Sunday: a fun Sunday afternoon in Marina Del Rey, CA 90292 well Diane wanted to stop by the beach. It was a perfect Sunday afternoon, my deals were being auto pilot hence I was all for stopping in where we used to live for ten years of our lives. So with that said we took Holly along for the ride. This was the second time she has been to the Marina and she loved it.
She enjoyed sniffing and it was just perfect many other dogs were around and the beach was not crowded. Clearly she loved walking on the sand … (23 comments)

The biggest attraction to Marina Del Rey for buyers and renters is the close proximity to the Pacific Ocean as well as Santa Monica and Beverly Hills to name a few. All reachable and are less then ten miles from Marina Del Rey. Needless to say another great benefit is to be three miles to Los Angeles International Airport aka LAX.
As you can see there is still a very tight inventory for potential buyers of Condominiums in Marina Del Rey.

As you can see inventory has increased and this of course has all the buyers excited. Ironically many people were complaining that inventory was scares now they are worried that this is an indication of the market changing.
Now if you had views like this do you need to worry? My answer is no, just enjoy living here... now let's look at how the sales numbers turned out. BTW I took this picture from Killer Cafe' today a fantastic laid back Marina Del Rey Restaurant that is open would you believe it 24/7?

Having lived in Marina Del Rey for about almost ten years, these demographics did not surprise me....
The beach community is mostly a renter community. People from all over the Globe want to live close to the Pacific Ocean, unfortunately their budget does not permit it. Hence some great business people recognized it 30+ years ago and took a risk in building a great many rental buildings and communities. Now with that said their risk had its rewards.

The Marina Del Rey Condominium Market for February 2016 has been very interesting and I have been meaning to share with you. Keep in mind these numbers include the ultra luxury penthouses as well as the townhomes that are a couple miles from the beech.
You have heard me and everyone else grousing about the lack of inventory well just look at the three year comparison and it is very telling. I recall not that many years ago we used to have an average of 200 plus units for sale.

Diane has known Mary Jo from work for over 16+years, she used to be the Law Librarian in her office. Even after she retired Diane stayed in touch. Long story short, we always made it a tradition to invite her over at the minimum on her birthday, I would cook… and then I was going through a very busy phase of my business and our tradition switched to going out to dinner instead.

Breaking news: a 20ft great white shark was spotted off the shores of Venice Beach yesterday. I am not trying to be sensationalistic, rather just to caution you that since we have this Summer Heat Wave going on, you might want to reconsider going in the waters near Venice Beach, CA.
I am of the generation when the movie “Jaws” came out, hence I am not trying to be an alarmist, just want to put a word of caution out there.

In fairness to disclosure, I have almost every John le Carre's books. This one, I read when it came out and the impetus was to re-read it, since the movie is coming out soon and I had virtually no recollection of the story. Well I am glad I re-read it. This book is the first of a trilogy that le Carre' has written. ( I suspect had I not re-read the book I would have challenges following the movie)

I have been meaning to to write about the Grocery Stores in Marina Del Rey, CA. I had to stop first and write about the demographics and population before. It is hard to believe that in this coastal community of Marina del Rey,( 8,000+ in Marina Proper or 18,000+ in 90292 zip code) there are so many Grocery Stores.
First I must let you know I love to cook, therefore I am passionate about having good and fresh produce. I am a firm believer the meal you prepare is only as good as the ingredients. The better the ingredience the better the meal.

What prompted me to give our readers more information about the Marina was the fact that I wrote about restaurants and was about the write about the Grocerie Stores. I am sure the readers were wondering how large is the Marina population? What are the Geographic Boundaries. Why are there so many great Restaurants and why so many Grocerie Stores.
