activerain: Ask An Ambassador: Is ActiveRain Relevant To Consumers? - 02/14/22 07:04 PM
Once upon a time long long ago (at least by Internet standards) you could write just about anything and find yourself ranked highly.
Was ActiveRain the king of SEO back in the day?
Or maybe a mix of knowing what was going on, teaching the lessons and also not having the same competition?
Flash forward to today and there's competition, and plenty of it.
Big portals.  Big brokerages.  And that's just for starters.
Now mix in agent websites, either provided by their brokerage or the agent's own Wordpress or similar site.  It's really not that costly (relatively speaking) to enter the arena.
So is ActiveRain still relevant … (16 comments)

activerain: Ask An Ambassador: More Than Just a Blogging Site - 10/19/21 03:04 PM
Some members leave the "more" out of ActiveRain.
They use ActiveRain as a blogging site and nothing further.
And while that may be enough for them, it's a missed opportunity.
If you've been here more than a little bit, you'll start to notice there's something special about this community.
Unlike some real estate Facebook groups I've seen, the brawling here is at a minimum, typically no worse than a mild corrective shock if someone tries to break the community rules :)
People here are willing to help.
Over the years I've reached out to various members when I needed specific expertise.  Probate, VA loans, short sales, Wordpress … (27 comments)

activerain: Ask An Ambassador: What Did It Get Me? - 08/18/20 03:27 PM
This weekend was an ActiveRain anniversary for me:  10 years of posting daily without missing a day.
Did I write EVERY day?  Nope.  In that 10 year span were all kinds of Life events planned and unplanned, but what I was always able to do was either write and post, or for predicted events, have some draft posts ready to flip to Active. They weren't always works of art, they weren't always going to lead to business, but they kept me in the habit of posting daily.
So what did those 3,650+ posts get me?
1.  Well more than a few "are you done … (26 comments)

activerain: ActiveRain Is About Lending A Hand - 10/28/15 07:56 AM
ActiveRain Is About Lending A Hand
One of the unexpected perks of ActiveRain is the resource network here.  It's nothing official, but something we gain over time.  We get to know people coast to coast across the entire spectrum of real estate professions.  If we have a question, we can get answers, e.g. Eric Boucher recently helped us with an FHA condo certification question.
It's a two way street though, not just take but give also.
If someone has a need for Ohio, we want them to call us first. Perhaps it's a direct referral, or perhaps it means we help select … (9 comments)

activerain: Liz Spear Team News July 2010 Personal Page - 07/12/10 03:44 PM
Pictured to the right you’ll find the kitties most favorite place to be during the day—  their outside enclosure weather and schedule permitting.  If I’m not in a position during my day to 1) carry them out [individually] and 2) keep an ear open for any ’cat’-astrophe , then they have to stay indoors.  Speaking from experience, pets are like perpetual two year olds with four feet and fur.  And if you have more than one it isn’t a matter of if it’s just a matter of when they get into a disagreement.  And as Cesar Milan says:  we must be … (0 comments)
