Home sales in San Diego County came in at 3,070 in July 2010, lower than the almost-3,900 sales in both May and June, but still well above the low of 1,826 sales in January 2008 and 2,322 sales in January 2010. Many experts blame the fall on the expiration of the federal tax credit, but that actually expired April 30, so it really doesn't fully explain the high sales in May and June. However, it's possible that some people were house hunting with the intent of getting into escrow by the April 30 deadline, and when they didn't, but found the right house anyway, they went ahead and bought. Some experts believe it will take 3-4 months for the tax credit effect to wear off. If your intent is to live in your home, raise your family there, and perhaps even retire there, it's always a great time to buy, but especially so right now with interest rates still at record lows and before home prices increase so far thath your dream home is out of reach. If you've been sitting on the fence, climb on down and give me a call! I can help you find your new home, and if you don't have a lender to work with, I'll help you find a good lender, too! I know several! ♫♪♫♫♪♫ If you're looking for a great real estate agent in San Diego, well, I'm available 24/7, so feel free to contact me by phone or email. Jim Frimmer, Realtor

Thanks for the stats! I like to compare year over year and I think while we had some drop off from teh expiration of the tax credit. A lot of steam is coming from ultra low interest rates.
If we continue to sell 3,000 homes a month throughout San Diego County, that's 36,000 homes a year. Just for one county! That sounds pretty healthy to me.
Thanks to everyone for stopping by and commenting. Comments are greatly appreciated!
I'm trying to follow up on these older posts like this one to see if anyone had any questions or if I really need to respond to anyone's comments.
I will read all the comments and respond to any that need a response, but rather than making comments here in my post to each and every one of you, I'll just let everyone know that I have read all the comments and if there are any questions, I'll answer those in comments below this one. Otherwise I'll simply post this comment and then head over to your blogs soon to visit and do some reading and commenting. I hope you'll have a nice welcome mat out for me!
Don't forget to let your cat come out to play with all the other ActiveRain kitties. Your cat-friendly dogs can come, too! At the end of the 2010, which is the Chinese Year of the Tiger, I'm going to put together a slide show or an eBook of all the ActiveRain kitties. If you see any stray cats roaming around ActiveRain, gather them up and bring them over to our forever home right here! The more the merrier!
Also, if you need a great cat book, get yourself a copy of Peg Silloway's The Cat Lover's Book of Days. It has great pictures and cat trivia, and you can use it year after year since it only has dates but not years.
Best wishes to everyone for a great Fall!
