HighWaterLine- Delray Beach- Our Earth Day Awareness.
Earth Day is being celebrated in many communities in many different ways. Delray Beach will also be participating by joining in HighWaterLine...visualizing Climate change on April 25, 2015!
This effort focuses on the challenges at the local level, bringing together artists, experts, and community members.
Delray Beach’s HighWaterLine calls attention to sea level rise.
Three neighborhoods have been designated as having been impacted by rising sea levels and flooding.
There will be 3 walks at each location where participants will take turns using a wheeled line marker to draw a line along the 4 foot mark which is an average of where flood waters reach after a storm surge or heavy rains.
But that’s not all!
*Veteran’s Park- from noon to 5 pm there will be informational booths and vendors to celebrate Earth Day.
*Finders Keepers Art Search at Noon
You can search for talisman tiles at the Beach, Intracoastal and Frog Alley.
*7 PM There will be a water dance moving choir procession (think live music and LED Lights!)
You can also see street art and murals being painted at storm drains to call attention to outdated infrastructure.
