Bloggers wanting to spread their Holiday cheer like little Johnny was sowing his apple seeds, zap down the blogroll paste in some generic "Happy Thanksgiving" message without even reading or giving a damn about the post you just spent time feverishly articulating. YOU just received the same generic message as a thousand others. If you were lucky, it might have EVEN been addressed to YOU. Guilty as charged. Simplifying Life...Over the years, I have managed to collect walls of stuff in the way of entertainment. Books, music, movies and picture albums line the walls of my office adding to the clutter and my weekly chore of dusting and sorting. Just like 8 track tapes went the way of the dinosaurs, so eventually will be CD's, DVD's and books. Kindles, iPods, and other types of personal media players are vogue and downloading is quick, easy, and uses less resources. Not to mention that, digital storage makes books, music, movies and photos more easily indexed and cataloged for quicker access. Years … (46 comments)

The Table... Over the next few days, most folks will be in a frenzy preparing for the big meal on Thursday. We will be joining other shoppers, who like us, will be crowding the parking lots Wednesday evening picking up those last minute items overlooked on our shopping lists. We will be adding extra leaves, getting out the best linen, meticulously cleaning the heirloom china, polishing the silverware and Heaven forbid we forget the centerpiece. They Are Still One of God's Creations...Through the years, I have taken tens of thousands of pictures. Like most folks, some are your typical point and shoot family affairs, some get a little more serious or creative. I have been going through the arduous task of cataloging the pictures. Like genres in music, pictures fall into themes or types based on subject matter or area. I recently stumbled on shots of squirrels that I had taken through the years. Who Will Stop the Sheep? This really became apparent to me while standing in line at the local Post Office. I watched while folks exiting pressed past patrons lined up to enter the facility. Stepping out of line, I walked to the other door and pulled. It opened. Everyone stopped and looked. Lines shifted. As I walked back to my place in line, I wondered, who will stop the sheep? Multitasking ~ ActiveRain Style...Unless you are living on another planet or still stuck on dial-up <sigh>, you have undoubtedly noticed the server slowdown and the increase in proxy errors over the past few weeks. Like me, many of you can only allot so much time to social media and ActiveRain. Then it is off to work either in or on your business. Between commenting, reading and posting, you are probably like me and earmark 1-2 hours as part of your marketing routine. 1 hour can quicky expand into 1-1/2 with slow server responses and leave you feeling frustrated. Everything is B&W or Is It? I must have been born with a camera in my hands, or so it seems. As far back as I can remember, I have been taking pictures. Years ago, photo enhancements were painstakingly done in the dark room or with an airbrush. Nowadays, they are done quickly and easily with programs such as PhotoShop or Aperture. It is amazing what one can do with these modern tools. Given a little time, practice and imagination, there is no telling what one can do...
