airport: Making a Quick Getaway to Cambridge, Maryland

It could be one of those summer mornings in Baltimore that promises a hot day ahead. Or maybe it's just clear and not too windy. We don't need much of an excuse to head across the Chesapeake Bay for breakfast. If we drove, it could take a couple of hours, but we share twin engine freedom with some friends, so three of us climbed in and took off for a short hop to Kay's Country Kitchen in Cambridge, MD where we met two more friends who flew in from BWI. airport: Flat Caleb Gets High

It was another glorious day, and Caleb really wanted to go to the airport. He's been asking all week to see our Beechcraft Baron, so off we went. N17577 is hangared at Martin State Airport at Strawberry Point.
Sixty years ago the area was buzzing with activity as the Glenn L. Martin Company turned out planes for World War II including over 500 B-29's, one of which was the Enola Gay.
