I would vote for frozen French Fries... but the shape is a little off for French Fries. So I don't know for sure, will have to check back in later.

Hi, I thought the same two things as Fred.  Slivered almonds or french fries.

Active Rain members, you are so smart. A+ It was hard to stump you with this photo. You must be  health conscious consumers of this impressive nutritional powerhouse food.. Those who guessed almonds or nuts were absolutely correct.

I love these SLIVERED BLANCHED RAW ALMONDS with my morning cereal or later in the day on my yogurt or salad. Almonds are the most nutritious nuts around. They have vitamins, potassium, fiber, calcium, disease-battling phytochemicals. They have been shown to lower cholesterol, regulate blood pressure, lower the risk of chronic illnesses, and even fight off osteoporosis.

No cholesterol
Very low in sodium
Low in sugar
High in manganese
High in magnesium

JIM: You are correct. They are nuts, they are slivered blanched raw almonds.

Shoshana, you and Julie were exactly correct in saying slivered almonds. I find that eating them is less in fat and calorie content because a handful is enough.

FRED Your fries was a good choice however your slivered almonds was the corrent choice.

KAREN ANNE: Your guess of grated cheese was a good guess as well as thinking that it  was small potatoes.

DEBRA: Sorry it is not potatoes, nor apples nor thick coconut/ But good guesses.

LOURDES: Sorry not potatoes. Popular guess by many.

MICHAEL: Sorry it is not sliced up french fries or sliced apples. Popular guess, potatoes and apples.

MATT: IT IS NOT french fries that have yet to be fried. Thanks for your guess, it has been a popular answer.

CARON: GOOD GUESS, BUT IT IS NOT French fries before the deep fry process.

JIM: Thanks for guessing again, Your sliced nuts or slivered almonds was correct however I like yur new guess of maybe filleted white chocolate. Yummy:)

IRENE: French fries before frying has been a popular guess. The photo is slivered blanched raw almonds. These almonds have been sliced very thinly into little sticks. These are more exoensive than whole almonds, because of the extra work that special commercial machines have to do to process them as slivered.

MARY: Thanks for stopping by to guess. Frozen French Fries  is not the right answer it is slivered blanched raw. almonds

JIM and MARIA: I appreciate your visit. the photo is of one of my favorite healthy foods, slivered blanched raw. almonds

Slivered almonds offer as much protein, manganese, selenium, fiber, and heart-healthy fat as their skinned counterparts. However according to a  "study in the Journal of Nutrition, it was  found that the flavonoids in almond skinswork synergistically with vitamin E in almond "meat" to reduce LDL oxidation (one of the main factors behind the development of atherosclerosis)" Therefore the whole almond  is nutritionally superior to the slivered blanched almond is better than the slivered or sliced and slightly more processed nut.

I'm going with cut potatoes for French fries. Or do we have French fries anymore? Well, fries, anyway.

Oh, no! I read through the comments to see that my guess is with the majority, but that they are almonds. No wonder I don't recognize them. I cannot stand almonds.
