active rain bloggers: I HAVE UPDATED MY BLOG SIGNATURE AND INCLUDED MY GOALS - 03/29/22 09:50 PM
I have not updated my blog post signature since I joined Active Rain in 2011.  If it had not been for this challenge sponsored by Craig Daniels and  Eileen Burns      I would not have done it yet.
My old signature below is was very small, busy, and cluttered.  I have become much more focused in my business since 2011 but it was not reflected here.

My new blog signature below is focused on what I do now which leadership and building high performing teams and great workplaces.  I list the two main areas where I operate and boldly list my phone … (28 comments)

active rain bloggers: BELLS RINGING WITH ACTIVE RAIN MEMBER STEVE BANIS - 12/21/21 09:42 PM
Last week I had the pleasure of speaking with Steve Banis who has been active as an Active Rain member since 2008.  Steve works with home flippers and cash offer homes.
Steve and I had a very nice conversation.  He graduated from college in 1968 and was drafted and went to Vietnam.  Afterward Steve worked in sales and knows the Westchester NY area where I live very well.
Steve is an also active in veterans  groups.  In the picture above Steve stopped by his old basic training company in Jackson SC and had his picture taking with these two training sergeants.
In the pictures … (27 comments)

active rain bloggers: THANK YOU ACTIVE RAIN! - 12/17/19 05:07 PM
I have been blogging on Active Rain since 2011.  Today, I want to show my gratitude today to the Active Rain community.  I was encouraged to join by Debbie Gartner .   Although I was not in the Real Estate business she told me about this great thing called blogging.  As a coach consultant she knew I wanted to connect with lots of people and she had attended some of my seminars which I had presented at office suites.  So I first put my toe in the water, then a little more, and then a year or so later I was all in.
I … (55 comments)

active rain bloggers: ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL WESTCHESTER NY MEETUP - 08/01/16 10:27 PM
Last night was a night of fun and education for six Active Rain friends.  We might have had a few more except for vacations.  Next time!  There was as much sharing of ideas and education as there was fun.
Wayne and Jean Marie Zuhl told us that as a result of their meetup last Thursday that they are putting together a new web site.  Way to go!  If last Thursday's topic was web  sites and  SEO last night was best real estate practices.
We were fortunate to have two pros at this topic in Dagny Eason and Ed Silva.

As part of Debbie Reynolds and Patricia Feager, MBA, GRI, Cert Negotiations Expert, Military Relo Prof challenge they have asked us to speak to a Newbie member of Active Rain.  I have just had a wonderful conversation with Angelia Bynum who has been a member of Active Rain for a few months.
Angelia is a real estate agent in the Atlanta area and has had her real estate license for one year.  When I contacted Angelia by phone her uplifting voice message told me I had made a good choice.  Angelia has been working hard developing her real estate business as well … (22 comments)

active rain bloggers: RINGING AND SINGING WITH HANNAH WILLIAMS - 01/25/16 11:41 AM
Today I had another great chance to sing in the Rain.  This time I had a great conversation with Hannah Williams .  I have been following Hannah's blogs for some time.  I was born and raised in Philadelphia/Bucks County and Hannah covers the area where I grew up.
Hannah answered her phone right away.  We were both recovering for the weekend snow storm.
Hannah has been blogging since close to the beginning of Active Rain and she remembers when there were more AR members in Philadelphia.  I was hoping to come down there for a meet up but it has been difficult getting … (29 comments)

active rain bloggers: RINGING AND SINGING WITH LISA VON DOMEK - 01/22/16 03:46 AM
Debbie Reynolds and Patricia Feager, MBA, GRI, Cert Negotiations Expert, Military Relo Prof have challenge us to begin this new year by ringing Active Rainer's phones and singing in the rain.
I called Lisa Von Domek and after a brief phone tag we had a great conversation.  I have followed Lisa's blogs and I love her positive upbeat attitude.  I also love when she writes about her four legged "kids."
I knew before but I could tell from our conversation that we are like minded people.  Lisa loves positive thinking and following the Active Rainers with great content and inspiration.  Lisa is originally from … (30 comments)

active rain bloggers: DAGNY EASON'S MEETUP WAS FUN AND BROKE A NEW RECORD - 05/16/15 02:53 AM
Judging from the meetup pictures I see it looks like Dagny Eason holds the biggest meetups in Active Rain.  We had 22 people there on Thursday night.  The weather cooperated as we posed for our group picture by the pool.
We really sould have included Sadie in the count.  She is Lisa Friedman 's rescue dog and she had a great time.  Lisa comes down from Vermont and is usually the longest traveler.  Not this time.  Our friend Bob Crane set the new record.  Bob is working on a project in the Adirondacks 7 hours away but he is about 2 days … (47 comments)

active rain bloggers: I REACHED A NEW PEAK - 01/10/15 04:41 AM
About 30 years ago I read a book by Robert Schuller called The Peak to Peek Principle.  It talks about reaching new peaks in your career and life.  And then when you reach that peak you can peek to the new plateau.  In other words, success is a journey and not a destination.

Well yesterday I reached a new peak in Active Rain of 400,000 points.  Now I can more than peek to 500,000 and beyond.  I met the goal I had set for myself and I was one day ahead of my stretch goal.

Actually the journey has … (40 comments)

active rain bloggers: THAT REMINDS ME OF A STORY – MUSINGS OF A MULTIFACETED ENTREPRENEUR - 11/07/13 12:44 PM

It seems that everyone likes a good story.  Stories retain attention of the listener by capturing the imagination.  It is no surprise that many of the great communicators in current events and history are story tellers.
Let me introduce Bill Primavera, public relations guru, home guru, and entrepreneur.   Bill  is quite a story teller.  His background began in reporting for restaurants and food and he later parlayed that into a successful public relations firm which currently serves many high profile business clients.  But Bill is also a realtor and is known as “The Home Guru”.
I have had the privilege of … (3 comments)

active rain bloggers: Learning from each other – Active Rain Meetup in White Plains, NY - 08/21/13 12:14 AM
I joined Active Rain in 2011 because a member of my BNI group, Debbie Gartner suggested that it would help my business.  She told me how successful Active Rain has been for her business.  Debbie helped me set up my page and mentored me.
After blogging for several years I definitely agree.  The Active Rain community has been very supportive and very helpful.  The meetups have been particularly helpful to me.  I have not missed any meetup since I joined Active Rain.  Last night in White Plains, NY was no exception.
The summer evening was perfect for meeting at … (5 comments)
