This famous name was coined by Captain William Driver, a ship-master of Salem, Massachusetts, in 1831. As he was leaving on one of his many voyages aboard the brig CHARLES DOGGETT - and this one would climax with the rescue of the mutineers of the BOUNTY - some friends presented him with a beautiful flag of twenty four stars. This shot of (OLD GLORY) was shot at The Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas-Nevada. It was taken in 2006 at the conservatory. The conservatory at The Bellagio Hotel is where the hotel displays themes 4 times per year on the seasons. Spring, they will display one theme, summer another and so forth.

Here is a great shot of the (OLD GLORY) flying in Big Pine, California. This post is for everyone celebrating THE FOURTH OF JULY, and my "Active Rain Family!" I shot this photo in 2007 when I was visiting the Inyo National Forest in the White Mountains. If you saw one of my older posts on The Bristlecone Pine, this is the turnoff that proceeds to the where the old Bristlecone Pines are.

This photograph was taken at Inlay Lake in Myanmar (Burma) in late April 2008 the night before the Cyclone hit the Delta and Yangon. The night I shot this photo me and my wife Nu Nu went out later that night and saw lightning and heard thunder from the Cyclone that was ripping through the southern part of Myanmar.
We had no idea as to what was going on with the storm or even know that there was a storm coming because we had no television and or radios. We found out the following morning about the Cyclone because we had … (3 comments)
