campton: Saint Charles has Night Out Against Crime Night Today....held in Campton Hills - 08/03/11 04:27 AM
Tonight my wife and 5 kids went to National Night Out Against Crime in Wasco, Illinois.  Saint Charles has been doing this for a number of years.  Now that a few citizens have created Campton Hells....what was Saint Charles is now Campton Hills.  For me that's the real crime.....
However, the night itself was good.  Kane County and Saint Charles, both contributed emergency personnel and did a lot of good things for child protection, fire protection and had the K-9 units there as well.  Kane County and Saint Charles had a lot of services to offer.  It was way too hot … (1 comments)

campton: Campton Hills is Amazing....REALLY! - 04/07/11 04:44 PM
I've been out here since 1972.  I've lived in a great township for most of my life, never living in a village or city.  I've always hated bureacracy.  Frankly, it's appalling that a big brother thinks that they're smarter than the citizens who have invested literally hundreds of thousands of their hard earned dollars into buying their dream homes.
It appears that Patsy Smith won.  Am I bitter?  You bet!  I'm not a sore loser, kudos to you and your "entourage" Patsy.  Again, I'm not a sore loser, but I am bitter.  Illinois judges have continually criticized and questioned her credibility.  And … (3 comments)

campton: Voting Time is Almost here in Campton Hills .... What used to be Wasco - 03/28/11 01:37 AM
Voting time is almost here.  I"m sure that Patsy and her kronies will win because so many people sit on the sidelines and don't care while she runs amok with our trust.  Kristin LeBlanc is the natural choice, but  she needs to be voted in as a write in candidate.  A few things stick out to me about Patsy.
I remember her telling the world that life will continue with the Saint Charles addresses.  It's ridiculous.  Nothing out here is Saint Charles.  Every customer service number you call has us as Campton Hell.....er, Campton Hills.  One more promise, one more lie.  … (6 comments)

campton: And I Always Thought That Campton Hills is Screwy....Check out Grafton! - 12/14/10 03:00 PM
So, I'm checking my e-mails and I see this blast about Graton, Illinois.  I'm not dismissing Campton and all of the ridiculous issues that they deal with and create each and every day.  Nor am I dismissing the leaders (I'm not sure how they got blessed with that terminology in Campton - An Oxymoron really) that are supposed to serve and lead.  But...having said that, Grafton has it's own set of issues.
Check out the "Huntley Patch" regarding Campton's Grafton's Issues.  The judge, basically told the a person who was working in an administrative position that the position was no longer … (0 comments)

campton: Campton Hills to lose Fire Protection Services? - 11/23/10 03:49 PM
According to the Kane County Chronicle, a bunch of residents went to the St. Charles Countryside Fire Protection District meeting Monday night to find out about "the district's future" even though the trustees weren't quite ready to give any particular direction!
"I know there are concerns, but we will address those concerns on Wednesday," board President Jim Gaffney said, referencing a special meeting planned at 10 a.m. in Campton Hills.
A MEETING IS SET WITH THE SHORTEST OF NOTICE FOR WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 24TH, 2010 AT 40W304 LaFOX ROAD, SUITE C IN WASCO CAMPTON HILLS According to the staff writer for the Chronicle:

campton: More Updates in Campton Hell....er Hills - 12/16/09 06:12 AM
I receive this e-mail this morning from Sue Secondi, a distinguished member of the community who needs to be supported in her bid for political office.  Sue is running for precinct committeeman.  She'll be an awesome representative who want to protect their land, and their income in troubling times.  Here's the most recent update from Sue.  By the way....write her name down.  Vote for Sue Secondi.

I wanted to let everyone know last night VCH banned video gaming within the Village.  They got this one right!
I'm just not sure they would have voted on this last night had I not … (0 comments)

campton: Urgent for Citzens of Campton Hills - 11/15/09 12:38 PM
I'm sure VCH hopes no one notices this Public hearing set for:
TOMORROW, NOVEMBER 16TH, 2009 AT 6:30 at the COMMUNITY CENTER.
Pay Attention to the Actions of the Campton Officials (I can't use the word "leaders" becase they're anything but that)!!!!
There's a zoning change request from a current land owner regarding annexation into the village.
The property is located at 2N190 Harley Road. (what it doesn't say is that for it to be contiguous to the Village, the property must start at 38 and extend down the west side of Harley to that address and maybe even further down Harley)
The Agenda also does … (4 comments)

campton: Thanksgiving Treats from Campton Hills Police Department! - 11/11/09 12:36 AM
Don't get pulled over and get a ticket fromt the $17,000 seat belt study.  It appears that the Campton Hills Police Department will be pulling over a lot of people for seat belt violations over Thanksgiving.  In an article by the Chronicle entitled:
Campton Hills to begin stepped-up traffic enforcement
see  www.kcchronicle.com/articles/2009/11/09/14576137/index.xml
the author wrote:
If you're tooling down Route 64 through the Village of Campton Hills this Thanksgiving season, better have your seat belt on, your child properly restrained and do the speed limit. If you don't and get caught by police, expect not only to get a citation, but a lecture … (5 comments)

campton: When the Campton Police Shut down my 4th of July Party!!!! - 07/07/09 04:38 AM
I had the best 4th of July party....bar none!
We were to have a great 4th of July party as always, but the rains came a down.  They were consistent all day.  The last thing that I wanted was for 40 people to be hanging in our house with the kids running in and out all day tracking crap in while we waited for the fireworks to begin.
Every year, we buy a lot of fireworks and put on a display that the entire neighborhood comes to see.  It's just so awesome.  Being a pyromaniac helps.  I light up the sky … (10 comments)

campton: Victory for A New Batch Wanting to Leave Campton - 03/10/09 01:54 AM
I've been out of the political realm since the election this past fall.  I've been all about unity and not fighting the administration that ruins runs our lives in Campton anymore.  In truth, I have so much in common with many pro-campton people, but we disagree wholeheartedly on a need for more taxation and big government.
Yesterday, Judge Colwell gave reprieve to a group of homeowners who wanted to leave the Village of Campton.  I guess I find some relief in knowing that homeowners who bought property in unincorporated Kane County, get to go back to what they had purchased.  They got … (2 comments)

campton: I Met A Great Man Today....even if he was Pro-Campton - 11/19/08 03:36 AM
As the Campton dust settles and the businesses try to stay open and the people worry about the economy and Wall Street seems more like Dirt Street, I have been fielding other dissapating comments at to this who Campton issue.  Frankly, I hate it. I've always hated it.  No one can tell me that more government is better, but alas, I digress.
I lost.  I lost my rights, my freedoms and ultimately the election on November 4th.  In consolation, I have told all that I would move on an seek for the healing of our community.  I'll never understand why any … (5 comments)

campton: Lies, Lies and more Lies - - - Campton's Leaders have mastered Political B.S.!!!! - 10/31/08 03:46 PM
Another e-mail from a concerned citizen of Campton Hills:
Under the category of, "are you kidding me?"
Last night, the Pro/No people did a ROBO call.  The name, Linda Bauman was used at the beginning of the call, on behalf of Keep Campton Hills.  Ouch, Linda needs to re-check the FACTs before making the statements she did. The basis of the call was another outright fabrication. But this is nothing new.

The FACTs are Tim Ratliff (USPS Regional spokesman) and Don Sommers (postmaster at St. Charles) have both confirmed (to dozens of residents) that the address change came from the authority of the Village, and … (0 comments)

campton: A Perfect Solution for the Campton Mess!!!!! - 10/22/08 03:02 PM
I've been slammed by the Village People a lot for speaking up against their viewpoints. I'm not a member of Camptonthepromise. I haven't contributed in any meaningful way. I've gone to two of their meetings. I haven't canvassed. I haven't contributed other than buying a $25 raffle ticket for some fundraiser about 6 months ago. I did get signatures to get it on the ballot, but I'm way too busy to get involved other than with my keypad. I'm married, have 5 kids, 1 niece, run a family, actively involved with my church and have been blessed with a business that … (0 comments)

campton: Patsy Can't be Serious can she? Campton Needs to Dissolve Now!!!! - 10/19/08 03:49 PM
Being a lawyer I can appreciate a good lawyer joke.  Here's one...."What's the difference between a lawyer and a vulture?"  A vulture eventually let's go.  While funny as a joke and a good dig on attorneys, it sure seems to be the M.O. for Patsy Smith....Let go already!!!!  People want out!!!!  The law is on our side!!!!People are winning.  Courts are ruling against her....but she doesn't seem to be able to let go....but then again it's not her money that she's spending.
In my opinion, she spends money indiscriminately in order to:
1)  Keep the village from dissolving even though A … (2 comments)

campton: A Plea for Your Child's Safety in Campton Hills!!!! - 10/08/08 02:18 AM
Although we have a big battle looming in Campton Hills, this is a non - partisan post.  Both sides agree that we need to protect our children.  As written in the Kane County Chronicle:
Police are notifying parents that a man in a blue mini-van approached two children and invited them to go to Bible study with him.The two children, a 6-year-old girl and her 15-year-old brother, were approached at  3:15 p.m. Thursday on their way home from school at the intersection of Hunters Hill and Chaffield drives, Police Chief Greg Anderson said."He asked them to get into the vehicle and … (3 comments)

campton: Vote Yes, Yes, Yes for the Dissolution of Campton Hills!!!!!! The time to Act is now!!!! - 10/06/08 07:59 AM
Driving around Campton Hills, formerly known as the great area of unincorporated Saint Charles and Wasco and saw a couple of vote no for the dissolution signs in their democratic, big government blue.  I decided to give an snyopsis of my take on the importance of this issue.  Additionally, below I have attached the flyer that's being passed around by the citizens opposing the new, bigger government of Campton Hills. My synopsis mirrors a lot of what these people are promulgating.
1)  Biggest thing for me is what they say about Fiscal Responsibility.  It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that … (0 comments)

campton: Reasons to Vote For the Campton Dissolution as Given by Campton The Promise!!! - 10/06/08 01:54 AM
Reasons for Dissolution
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
•·        It is unrealistic and ultimately impossible to effectively manage a municipality with "No New Taxes." Shared revenue from the State is never paid out at 100 %.
•·        The Special Service Area (SSA) established because of flooding in the Evening Prairie subdivision is essentially a tax, but residents have been told it is a benefit.
•·        Relying solely on sales tax revenue to support a village requires a thriving retail and commercial area.  Currently this does not exist in the Village of Campton Hills to the extent necessary to support the added layer of government. … (0 comments)

campton: Campton The Promise - 09/26/08 02:01 AM
Just signed on today and got an broadcast e-mail showing the new site for the opposition against Campton Hills.  I've cut and pasted, but you can get the information yourself from the site.  The site is www.camptonthepromise.com.  Do your own research and make your own decisions on what you want to do, but this looks like a very well thought out site.  All of the citizens in Campton are concerned with the future of the area out here.  It's taken over 2000 signatures to get on the ballot to dissolve Campton where it only took a few signatures to create this … (0 comments)

campton: Vote Yes....for the Campton Hllls Dissolution - 09/23/08 05:23 AM
Time is always of the essence.  It's time that the Citizens of Campton Hills band together to let their voices be heard.  It's on the ballot and there's a lot of information for and against keeping this entity together.  We already know that a special service tax has been created for a drainage district despite the claims of no new taxes.  The villagers are free to vote any way they want, but the time to act is now.  Check out the site www.stopcamptonhillspac.com.  Although, I'm not involved with any organization, I have strong feelings towards this dissolution.

campton: 3 Reasons Why we need to Kick Campton to the Curb and Dissolve Now!!! - 09/18/08 04:26 PM
Last week a message urging residents to  'Vote No' was sent out using the Village of Campton Hills newsletter and notification mail list.  The Village Publicity/Media Volunteer, Don Grillo, is also active in the Preserve Campton PAC. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.... Getting interesting here.  Supposedly, he used the Village Mail list, the one used for newsletters, by 'mistake' and sent the political message to the entire distribution list.    I'm thinking two thoughts.....
1)  Either a blatant misuse of power....they guy's gotta go if that's the cae or;
2)  The guy is so dumb that he doesn't belong in his position....please....ignorance about using a village mailing list for political game.  … (8 comments)
