Against The Odd – Our Daily Battles to Victory!


I was reminded of the movie 300, and the struggle of the small group of soldiers in that movie. Those 300 soldiers managed to overcome great odds and defeat the army of 170,000 Greek men. How inspiring to see how that small group work together, using their collective knowledge, and joining together as one and not accept defeat.
How often do we see this sort of thing in our everyday lives? Maybe not fighting to the death, not building a structure that no one thought you could do, or … (25 comments)

I have been caught up in a lot of good things lately; being a general contractor is just one. I was upset about missing a deadline for a Challenge; I had a cool idea for a video but ran out of time. I’ll keep it on the back burner for now.
 
The opening of Magic Mike was this weekend; I had to do my part in helping the cast.

I was surprised with a hammock for Father’s Day and I quickly jumped on to try it. This led to a few photos and a nap. There is something about a hammock that is so restful. If you have never tried a hammock, you don’t know what you are missing.

If you build it, they will come.

One of my favorite movies to watch is Field of Dreams, I get a good feeling watching Kevin Costner follow that voice. If you have seen the movie, you know that Costner’s character, Ray Kensilla, moves to Iowa with his wife and they become farmers growing corn. But Ray hears a voice that tells him that, “If you build it, they will come”.
