Let’s say you have 6 horses.  You might require a minimum of 12 acres, depending on the circumstances. By “circumstances”  I mean that there are other options , for example, there are equestrian communities near Asheville where you could share a pasture. Community acreage is attractive to any number of our clients including organic gardeners and “boomers” looking for inter-generational neighborhoods.

It is safe to say that your approach to walking and hiking mountain land (including some that is for sale and calls to you in and around Beautiful Asheville) will evolve over the years. And, it's also safe to say that walking the mountain land will never cease to inspire and amaze you, as it does our land brokerage team. One look at a scene like this (photo from recent walk on broker-colleague’s land for sale) and you may see what I mean.

They arrived right on time. A young-ish-looking couple who told me they  both were over 50! They must have been doing all the  right things. They were, they admitted, into sustainable excellence, and I had to laugh since so am I- although my reference point is LAND here in the Asheville, NC mountains.
Were they looking for LAND to help keep them flexible and strong, or to establish a pocket neighborhood in the valley?

Grammy winning Fiddler performs near Asheville as we celebrate the LAND-22 minutes from downtown Asheville- Marshall, NC . Yes- Just 22 minutes from downtown Asheville, you may run into a ten-time Grammy Award-winning fiddler—Mr.  Bobby Hicks (see video below)  You might have heard him with Bluegrass legend Bill Monroe in 1954. I had the good fortune to first hear him when he joined the Ricky Skaggs Band. He’s been a featured performer on the Grand Ole Opry but this weekend, he’s  sharing his music just  22 minutes from downtown Asheville.

Sustainable Farming -Asheville Though the Generations- Early settlers in the Carolinas, my “far-grandparents” being among them, borrowed agricultural practices from the Native Americans. They incorporated them into their own farming practices  creating a sustainable way of life that included orchards and vegetable gardens. (see Part 1 for details).
