Short post to pay homage to patriotic songs that we don't hear too much about. I grew up with these songs as it was required singing in 5th and 6th grade public schools back in the 50/60's. They had a auditorium period and the principal of all people would go to the head of the auditorium and conduct the singing of one song after another THEY WEREN'T JUST WORDS Even in my young, innocent and naive mind and body I was able to sense at a tender age the enthusiasm, excitement and the "want to" in everyone in that room enjoying themselves. world war: MARINE CORP BASE IN CALIFORNIA doing practice bombing.....SHOCK & AWE!

I live 100 miles away from the Camp Pendelton Marine Corp base in San Diego California. About 2 weeks ago, I read that they would start practicing some bombing techniques and that explosions would be heard. Well they weren't kidding either. My wife and I heard earthquake type rumblings several times in the evening THIS IS NO EARTHQUAKE At first I thought it was an earthquake, but it didn't feel right (no pun). Then, I thought it was military cargo planes taking off from a local March Air Force Base. Then, it hit me (not literally) that these were practice explosions … (4 comments)

During the last world war, more people were killed, tortured and maimed then one can really document. All we can do is estimate between 50-60 million. Let that sink into your brain.
