complaints: CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ONGOING - 01/09/18 08:25 AM
Serve others! It escapes the many in the business as they prepare to handle this subject on the defensive rather than in the greet and meet mode. Progress is always being made but holding to a high standard is always hard, consistent never-ending work. Why? Because it is people that have to serve and be served & they all tire of it at times
ONLY A MACHINE
This is where robotics, script & programming comes in handy as they just take the same footprint that seems or appears to work & repeat it every time believing that issues are being addressed. That's is what is … (8 comments)

complaints: REAL ESTATE SPEED - 10/08/16 09:43 AM
It is an interesting dynamic to be a part of these Real Estate transactions. When nothing is brewing and an agent is between transactions, time is perceived as crawling and not acting on our best behalf's. When in a transaction, time is of the essence and one must move with a purpose not only for their own sake but for fiduciary sake too
 I DON'T SEE IT MOVING
Real Estate does not really move as we use the word literally. Agents, principals and other professional assistants make it take on different identities safely & effectively and it involves large amounts of money and remains a life changing event for … (6 comments)

complaints: THE PUBLIC & REAL ESTATE AGENTS - 01/04/16 12:00 AM
I like listening to people wherever I go but not intruding or eaves-dropping. NO. However, you can overhear someone without wanting to at times and an interest in common may come up. That's when I listen in for that short period. In other occasions, I ask a specific question to get answers to a subject.
BAD REAL ESTATE
Anyone who has had a bad experience with a Real Estate agent makes it known and doesn't mince words either. The funny part of it is that they complain mostly about the agent, personally, who is the insult and then the transaction involved which is the injury. It was the … (7 comments)

complaints: THE AGENT THAT DOESN'T KNOW - 05/27/15 07:21 AM
The good news? They are doing us all a favor. How? The ones that do know a thing or two shine in their presence or in their wake. The ignorant or passing through agent makes the career minded professional stand-out providing a contrast not only the consumer but for the industry as well. The uncommitted haunt us all
THE BALANCE
The bad news is that many consumers will not get the services they are entitled too and wont even know about those services but form an opinion claiming all agents fail and they can do better. I wont argue either point, but I know of people … (2 comments)

complaints: ESTATE REAL? - 05/22/15 11:54 PM
What strange two words this title of the post. Estate Real is when an owner of Real Estate is where they want to be and when asked what their status is, they comply by saying the state of my status is real. I just made that up as an example of why you may need an agent who uses a high degree of ethics to rep you. Let me explain
CAN I HELP YOU?

complaints: WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO BLOG - 05/13/15 12:18 AM
Today, we are asked as well as wanting to know, who is who and what is what. What is it all about and how does that help me? The yellow pages are gone. Reference letters, referrals and sharp marketing and advertising can make something sparkle, glitter and appealing when it is not all that! Cereal packages do that now.
MARKET SPEAK
If you walk down the cereal aisle of any market, you will find SUGAR, main ingredient packaged into many colorful forms, sizes, shapes, characters and colors presented cleverly as cereals. But it is really just sugar presented in many different ways. Same with soft drinks … (6 comments)

complaints: I HAD TO TELL THE CITY - 11/05/14 10:53 PM
Managing a City is a big deal. Let's just all agree on that. In said cities, there are pockets of communities and neighborhoods that have their own little dynamics, charm and problems to boot. Then, there are the common links to each of the communities that we all use to come and go by. I spoke of my area to the city about a problem
THE AREA SPEAKS UP
If enough people complain about something, the city will conduct an investigation by sending "staff" into the area and doing research, testing and gathering data. Some staff have learned to go out to the … (6 comments)

complaints: THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER - 10/19/14 11:50 PM
There is always something going on behind the scenes. Learning to let others know what you do is no longer a secret or hard to do for that matter. Today, when you visit online in regards to anything, there is something to be learned about what you are looking for. Transparency and the sharing of data is there
KISS OF DEATH
I was reading more than once at how people fear what others will say about them online. Retailers especially fear this because they spend time, money and effort to build a business and they know that a negative comment counters that movement. A … (6 comments)

complaints: DOING THE RIGHT THING IS SUBJECTIVE - 08/06/13 12:36 AM
Subjectivity is exclusive to the person who is practicing it. Outcome is based on what people and their motives are up too. If no good, then we will see the evidence of it soon enough. If a good outcome prevails, there will still be controversy as not all people agree one way or the other. WHAT THEN? A person must seek out to do what is right in the moment revealed to them from within...and then HOLD ON
BECAUSE I SAID SO...that's why
The concept appears often in personal and professional arenas. Take raising children. 90% of the experience is made … (2 comments)

complaints: DOUBLE ENDING SHOW SOME CLASS - 07/17/13 11:32 PM
Look, we all suspect and many of us just plain know when an agent is trying to double end or just doing the double end dance. Whether you should or shouldn't is always a good subject to explore but that is not my point at this time. Mine is that those that choose to do so have no tact, acting ability or finesse causing more trouble than necessary and violating the ethical rules and regs too when doing it. WHY?
CONTROVERSY
Pocket listings have long been another back and forth subject as well as the agent who has in writing from … (45 comments)

complaints: SQUEAKY WHEEL GETS THE REAL ESTATE DEAL - 01/24/13 10:58 PM
My fellow agents. Lately I have had to sit in on hearing (s) where grievance (s) were filed against the listing agent who represents the seller because he or she did not get back to the buyer and or their agent on the offer made. The complaining party is quick to point out and make accusations like fraud, misrepresentation, incompetency, and all this is brought about from your offer not being accepted?
REJECTION OF OFFER
Well back up for just a moment please. I don't know of any law where someone has to get back to you on a offer. I also know that if they don't … (4 comments)

complaints: ALL THOSE BIDS BUT ONLY ONE CAN HAVE IT - 01/05/13 11:14 PM
It is not uncommon to have multiple bids on a listing now a days. You can feel the energy in the air and it gets thicker with every call and inquiry. Slowly the momentum builds and you have yourself several well qualified buyers and their agents all wanting the property. Only one can prevail
FAIR & HONEST
What is the best approach when it comes to picking "the one"? Proof of funds are in. Loan commitment is a go. Repairs have been discussed, pricing is agreed and all can close in 30 days. Who gets the house? How can you spread … (11 comments)

complaints: I CANNOT TELL YOU ENOUGH...WELL TRY YOUR BEST - 11/03/12 12:04 AM
You have heard this cliche or famous one liner many times. It is a saying that is brought into play when one is very happy or very upset. I CANNOT TELL YOU ENOUGH of how much I appreciate all you have done. OR, I CANNOT TELL YOU ENOUGH how upset I am from the way you handled this. Well if I had any say so, I would tell the person to do their best to tell me ALL THEY CAN....
IF IT IS GOOD...
If it is a compliment, well perhaps it was deleiberatly earned. Acknowledging a work well done is and should … (10 comments)

complaints: YOU LOST THE HOUSE NOT THE AGENT - 10/23/12 01:07 AM
I attended a complaint hearing where the buyer who was rejected brought a complaint against the selling agent. This rejected buyer insisted that his agent file the complaint. The basis was that the house sold for less money than the rejected buyers offer and he couldn't understand why the highest bid was not accepted (his) by the bank in this short sale
LESS EMOTIONS...MORE FACTS
The communications between the agents was present, but not optimum. You see they let their argument control the discussion instead of the facts which I will reveal. If they were calm and communicated, it all would have … (9 comments)

complaints: STOP RE-INVENTING CUSTOMER SERVICE - 06/26/12 04:27 AM
Customer service or if you say it backwards "service customer" is exactly what it means and says. Creative ways have popped up to cater to the customer or consumer. Fine. However, let's make sure we stay focused on the subject matter. For someone to have to already call on SERVICE, something is not right. From there, it should be immediately addressed and turned around
WHATS OUT THERE NOW
The other day, I called for customer service and got a very upbeat response. Immediately, the phone was answered, I was greeted and then told how to interact to better my results. Sounds … (2 comments)

complaints: NO FISHING REALLY SAYS THE FISH ARE HERE - 06/08/12 12:57 AM
I am talking about spammers. That is the problem. Let me run that past you again. It is talking about them that gives them the marketing juice that encourages them to continue. Its a confusing paradox. If you complain, then they have succeeded. WHY? Because in marketing it is all about getting your attention. If they can hold it, that's even better
GUILTY ON THE POST POINT
I am violating my own point of this post by even writing about it. We are supposed to gravitate to what we like and learn to politely ignore what we don't. If we spend … (9 comments)

complaints: PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS COMMITTEE WORK VERY REWARDING - 08/02/11 07:57 AM
I have spent several years as a volunteer at my local Board of Realtors sitting on the grievance committee. I remember the first day I attended, I was pleased to take note at how much there was to learn. Hearing cases about the profession I am in remained a very effective teaching tool for me. Lots to learn in this business
TIME AND EXPERIENCE BEST TEACHER OF ALL
I will be the first to admit that Real Estate is the type of profession where you learn as you go. It does not disappoint and the busier you are, the more experience … (5 comments)

complaints: WHO IS THIS PERSON, PLACE, OR THING?....CHECK THEM OUT ON THE NET - 05/09/11 07:17 AM
I got a call the other day on a listing from an out of the area buyer. The first thing they said was..you are a prolific blogger and do quite a lot..I said yes, I do. Then they said I see where you wrote a book called Pearls for the Soul a book of positive sayings and I said yes, that's me. Good...we are interested buying a home in your area and we need your help

complaints: THE POWER OF BLOGGING IS UPON US...... CONSUMERS HAVE FINAL SAY - 05/21/10 02:29 AM
Have you noticed that customer service policies are leaning toward the consumer now more than ever. It wasn't just the recession and the lack of business either. Retailer, corporations and businesses have realized that if we are not happy, WE BLOG ABOUT IT.
When you shop, if you are not treated fairly or have not received value, it shows up on the Internet shortly thereafter. Everyone knows this......
Bloggers can increase someones business or harm it.....depending on what happened. The public has a uniformed instant voice...... which is something that never existed before.
The power of the press has been broken. … (6 comments)
