exams: REAL ESTATE EXAM SHOULD HAVE - 10/02/20 04:34 PM
I have never really believed the Real Estate exam they administer in California to be effective or on target with how a newly practicing Real Estate agent should proceed. In fact, just because there are a certain set of do's and don't doesn't mean or guarantee a licensed result whatever that is. Just what is licensing and what is it supposed to do or not do?
SIMILAR TO A DEGREE
Its not the degree one walks away from when leaving college but how it is activated and wielded on the job. How can any degree prepare anyone for what is to come? All it can do … (8 comments)

exams: THE REAL ESTATE OF DECADES AGO - 04/09/15 10:12 AM
Before I became interested in Real Estate, I noticed that agents ruled the Real Estate earth and brokers ruled them and Real Estate didn't move an inch unless these movers and shakers of the industry helped it along. I used to see agents all over town driving nice cars, dressed to the hilt carrying briefcases or handbags and walking with a purpose and posture
THEY STOOD OUT
These People (agents) spoke a lingo from another planet called Real Estate speak using words that even defined needed an explanation for the explanation. They even had special calculators that only they could work that actually told you … (10 comments)

exams: TAKING THE REAL ESTATE BROKERS TEST - 08/06/14 09:26 AM
Today it requires a little more than lets say a decade ago. And a decade before that, a little more as well. In other words, it is getting harder not easier. WHY? They are weeding out the passing through type people, the quick buck churners and the opportunists. Too many people complained about agents and since you can control people, you can control their licensing requirements. Today, you need to love this business
LOVE IT or LEAVE IT
Its no longer for people who just want something to do. Even if you squeak by and do get licensed for the wrong reasons, you … (6 comments)

exams: MY FIRST GLIMPSE OF A REAL ESTATE AGENT and more - 07/07/13 12:07 AM
I remember the first time that I saw a Real Estate agent. I did not know anything about Real Estate or much more either. I knew whoever I was looking at was important and did something special. There was no mistaking it either. First off, this person was dressed up but not like if they were going to a wedding or Bar Mitzva...NO. It was a distinct form of dress that made you comfortable, take notice but also reminded you something special was going on
FIRST IMPRESSION WORKING
I then noticed this person was near perfect in their presentation and body … (9 comments)

exams: WHAT I WISH I KNEW BACK THEN AND SO DID OTHERS TOO - 04/11/13 12:19 AM
I remember seeing and hearing about Real Estate agents long before I wanted to be one. They were all without exception successful images of business people dabbling in something that truly mattered. Everyone of them dressed very well, was well groomed and drove nice clean cars. I thought that said everything about the subject one could want to know. A Real Estate agents life for me...is all I daydreamed
HARD WORK TO GET LICENSED
It was a process to get licensed back then. You had to enroll in study courses that physically met up. Each instruction while meaningful was challenging because … (12 comments)

exams: TAKING MY CONTINUING EDUCATION CLASSES NOW...whew - 02/21/13 11:16 PM
I have been licensed in Real Estate since 1978 and I must say that it is a business where you never stop learning. WHY? Just as no two houses are the same... no-two transactions are the same and people are all different too. No matter how many times I have done something, it is always the first time for that situation. Now, all this experience has to go on hold as I try to make sense out of reading material telling me about Real Estate
REAL LIFE vs DRAMA
Who writes this stuff anyway? I don't mean any disrespect and I … (10 comments)

exams: MALE OR FEMALE DOCTOR WHATS YOUR PREFERENCE - 01/21/13 10:41 PM
Now this is a literally sensitive subject for many I know. It makes itself known at an early age too and for some it is a very serious subject and for others of no concern. I have personally experimented with both male and female doctors and I have noticed very little doctoring distinctions
WARNING: VERY MILD SUGGESTIVE INNUENDO AHEAD
It is the patient that usually has the consideration. Now I will go first and share my experience with two female doctor types. I always had a male doctor if at all. I don't like doctors as a group. There is nothing … (12 comments)

exams: REAL ESTATE LICENSE TO MAKE MONEY HARDLY - 11/27/12 10:17 PM
I remember it fondly. Before becoming a licensed Real Estate agent 35 years ago, I had thoughts and dreams of the good life. Where did this come from? Well, every agent I ever met many years ago had a nice car, extremely well dressed and made a first impression that left you with a pleasant experience. If I was to transact in Real Estate, that was the role model
AT FIRST GLANCE
Now this person also had a tool bag that consisted of pens, papers, forms, calculator and a notebook of all the listings. They also were able to compute what … (10 comments)

exams: CLASSROOM VERSUS REAL LIFE - 06/25/12 11:08 AM
Classrooms or real life? I remember going back to school in my early fifties to get a degree. First problem I encountered? I had to unlearn everything I learned in the real world. You either learn what the professor is teaching or you take the grade for not doing so. I sat in classes that made no real rubber meets the road sense. Degrees are learned, life is experienced
REAL ESTATE EXAM...shoot me please
Same dynamics popped up when I went to take my Real Estate exam. I could not believe this data could be learned. I considered it hopeless and … (5 comments)
