politics: How DO you know when they are telling the truth? - 01/26/13 10:47 AM
Some of my favorite clients are elderly.
There is no guessing where they stand.  I have blogged about this before.
I met some NEW friends today.   Yes clients, but they are much more.  I told my wife that this 2 hour listing would take at least 3.  It took 4 1/2 hours.
I got some great insight of their mentality, and some great leads to boot.
This age group always has some wisdom I can take away.
Today was not diferent.  This time it was the wife...
"Do you know when a politician is telling the truth?" she asked me.

politics: And onward we march... - 11/07/12 09:22 AM
Well, it is the same ol' same ol' for at least 2 more years.
Both sides are going to argue and nothing will get done, but meanwhile, the hands will still be outstretched waiting for the handouts.
One more year NO incumbent got my vote.
Now if we could just get people to talk more term limits, we may get somewhere!

politics: The respect is gone for the rights we have won! - 02/10/11 07:07 AM
I come across this cartoon.   It reminded me of an incident that happened last fall to my sisters grandson.   He was with a friend in the classroom during lunch break.  The two were standing and saying the pledge of alligence.  The teacher came in and scolded them, took them to the Principal's office.
They were warned if they ever did that again, they would be expelled.  The Pledge was not allowed in school!
My sister was furious as was the Mom.  They took the child and now drive him 25 miles to a private school.
Again...a small amount of people making … (25 comments)

politics: Is he off his Rocker?...or is it just me? - 12/10/10 08:55 AM
Harry Reid now wants to make internet gambling legal.  As if we don't have enough gambling outlets that just take the money of hard earned people.
Now, Don't get me wrong, I believe that if this is your type of entertainment, great, go for it.  I enjoy some gambling also, but if we are going to try and balance the budget this way...I don't like it.
There are a lot of people who will have a hard time staying away from this easy access gambling.  It makes underage gambling very easy and almost uncontrollable.
Another call to my congressman!

politics: Voting is almost over...NOW What? - 11/02/10 02:45 PM
The votes have been cast, except for a few states where the polls are still open.  So what is the next step?
Hurry up and wait!!!
For those of you who thought that change would start right away, you are a bit optimistic.  The new congress won't be sworn in for a couple of months.  So, for now we have to deal with all the 'Dead Ducks!'
What's a Dead Duck?  It's what we normally call a lame duck.  Someone who is working the job but will be leaving their post very soon.  But, the problem is that most of these … (14 comments)

politics: It's Politics as usual... - 10/19/10 12:26 PM
I was watching a debate the other night and it is reason to be scared.  No one was wrong about anything.  Things were pointed out about all candidates and everyone denied the statements, even tho much of it has been a  proven fact.
It would be refreshing if just once a candidate said...Yes I did do that and I am sorry or I was wrong.  That person would be held in much higher esteem and may even get my vote for trying to be honest.  Let's face it, we have all had a dummy attach of one kind or another.
