unemployment: JOBS....WHERE ARE THEY....WHEN ARE THEY....HOW ARE THEY...? - 06/19/11 03:04 AM
I just finished reading an article where they report that the economy is not producing jobs in accordance with stimulus or projected job growths for this time. The word recovery is not accurate when it comes to unemployment. Unemployment is doing what Real Estate is doing in some parts of the country which is to remain unstable..
STILL LAYING OFF
In my neck of the woods (and others), they are still laying off so adding or recovering jobs doesn't make sense. Disposable income is near or non existent thanks in part to high gasoline prices that squeezed out every drop it … (3 comments)

unemployment: THE FINANCIAL COLLAPSE OF 2008...can now be talked about freely...part 2 - 06/05/11 03:47 AM
In part 1, I introduce how the collapse of our financial system was far from accidental and started from the top down. Where do you go to complain when the TOP is involved in something? What many Americans are now finding out is that they must take stock of themselves and their situation because there are no other solutions available
MY NEIGHBOR...THE ATTORNEY
I interviewed my neighbor who is an successful attorney. He has a mortgage of close to $500k on a home that is not worth even $200k. He has always paid his bills and lives a model life. In … (9 comments)

unemployment: THE FINANCIAL COLLAPSE OF 2008...can now be talked about freely...part 1 - 06/05/11 03:45 AM
I am not much for politics or certain current events, but I like to keep up with what concerns me personally and professionally. That can be different things to different people. When Real Estate crashed, I knew intuitively that it was no accident. Something of that magnitude just doesn't sneak up on people and consume them
SO WHO DID WHAT?
Follow the money works every time. People in power can wield that power to manipulate events to distort facts. At some point, the truth will surface and we see how imperfect our systems really are. How fragile they were. How they … (6 comments)

unemployment: STARTING OVER...THE WORDS ARE SCARIER THAN THE ACTUAL JOURNEY - 06/02/11 06:18 AM
Many many years ago, I got my first taste of defeat. I managed to always pay my bills on time, buy the house, have the three cars and the family that goes with it. I was living the American Dream. Then, it happened. I lost everything literally over night....This is definitely one frightening experience to meet and go through
IT HAPPENED TWICE...BUT I LEARNED
The first time this happened to me, I wept for three months which looking back really helped me to clear my mind and deal with the stress of it all. Slowly, old beliefs fade out or away … (70 comments)

unemployment: PEOPLE WILL USE YOUR OWN GREED AGAINST YOU...IF YOU LET THEM - 05/29/11 06:37 AM
I remember many years ago when I was an ignorant (innocent) fool and out of a job. I was collecting unemployment and you have to go to the unemployment office in person to collect your check. I come out with my cashed check and I notice a group of people right next to the parking lot. I go over to investigate....

unemployment: WHO WORKS THE HARDEST?......RECENT POLL ANNOUNCES THE WINNER - 05/12/11 11:02 AM
I came across a little article that caused me to think. It goes like this. The O.E.C.D. or the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development just completed a poll which is comprised of data from 34 member countries that concluded that Mexicans put in 10 hours per day of work they get paid for and some that they don't.
OTHERS WORK HARD TOO
Worthy to note that the Japanese, South Koreans, and the Chinese all work similar hours, but put in less hours of unpaid labor such as cooking and cleaning.
MEXICANS STATE
Mexicans are the first to relate and then … (4 comments)

unemployment: U.S. ECONOMY....UNEMPLOYMENT AND... RISING GAS PRICES...? WHOA! - 05/12/11 02:56 AM
If there was ever a time where we need our government to govern, this is it. What is anyone waiting for? People in public office are well paid, motivated and taken care of. Now, I have to see some results from all that and I want to see them now!
$5.00 A GALLON?
Whoever is behind raising gas prices during a recession-depression has one wondering to say the least. Money is tight, uncertainty abounds and why would people try to profit from others during these especially hard times? Despicable comes to mind

unemployment: RENTALS...A LOT OF WORK UNTIL THE RIGHT PEOPLE MEET UP - 04/28/11 03:56 AM
It is not easy to rent property out now a days and to seek out properties for rent either. Both landlords and tenants have their hands full. Landlords want the rent paid on time and the common sense rules obeyed. Prospective tenants want a safe and affordable place to stay...so what is the problem?
Landlord Risk
Well here in Riverside County in California, evictions are given low priority in the courts. Consequently that means that if there is a dispute and the tenant doesn't pay rent for some reason, the Landlord will have to sustain the mortgage for months even up … (4 comments)

unemployment: RENTAL MARKET STILL GOING THROUGH TOUGH CHANGES..... - 04/07/11 04:23 AM
I manage a couple of rentals that are like temperature gauges for the local economy. People respond to my ads but not everyone who calls... qualifies. I took to posting the qualifications on site so when people go to see the houses, they know what to expect. That has reduced the number of calls, but I still get some interesting inquiries
EVERYONE IS WELCOMED
Just about everyone calling is a nice, decent person. A few just hang up once they discover that they don't qualify. Everyone has a story to tell too. I get calls from students, self-employed people, authors, divorcees, … (4 comments)

unemployment: MR. PRESIDENT.....FOCUS ON HE HOME FRONTS PLEASE...we need help here - 03/28/11 07:51 AM
We have a broken economy, an unemployment issue, a battered and bruised housing market and a federal deficit problem. There is dissension in the house of politics and the world at large doesn't respect America. I am bothered by all this and wonder what the hundreds of thousands of employees that work in government are governing?
Japan is in the crisis mode dealing with their priorities after a devastating earthquake. They have their hands full and will begin the herculean task of rebuilding and beginning a new. They will return and become stronger for it while setting a fine example during … (0 comments)

unemployment: GLOBAL INTERFERENCE BY THE U.S......is costly for all concerned - 03/28/11 04:53 AM
I find it interesting at how we are quick to take a stand on something half way around the world (Libya) without hesitation. It can be debated whether we should or should not. That is not my point. What I have noticed over the years is that we do not have an exit strategy once we do get involved
How can you get into something and not calculate the costs? You would think by now that we have an understanding of this. This is defective thinking and shocking when you consider that it comes from high level sources.
The recent blunders … (2 comments)

unemployment: WELLS FARGO CEO...only made...17.56 MILLION IN 2010 Recession SPARES NO ONE - 03/22/11 03:50 AM
The figure quoted above is 6% less than what he made in 2009. So the recession has not spared this man and he too lost money. Now the corporation credits CEO John Stumpf with helping to bring in income in excess of 12 billion dollars last year. He must be rewarded for doing his job.
THE BANKS MAKE MONEY
The gross revenue for Wells Fargo is roughly about 85 billion a year down from 88 billion a year because of the recession, regulatory reforms, and the banking financial crisis. So you see even the banks are not immune from the economy … (0 comments)

unemployment: WE NEED TO DISCUSS AND SOLVE...UNEMPLOYMENT, HOUSING, AND THE RECESSION - 03/16/11 07:04 AM
I notice that newspapers are reluctant to talk too much about unemployment being high and not responding to stimulus. They will also approach the subject of housing tip toeing as they do. Even the economy and what we call the recession is approached gingerly all so that they do not make things worse when discussed.
OUR FEARS COME OUT
You see that's what most humans do when they hear something not to their liking. They take it to heart via their fears and make matters worse than they are. This appears to be the problem at large in regards to when … (4 comments)

unemployment: MY NECK OF THE WOODS HAS A WAYS TO GO IN THIS ECONOMY - 03/09/11 08:38 AM
The Riverside and San Bernardino areas of California have the hardest hit by the current and latest downturn in the economy and Real Estate devaluations. We continue to be bogged down with foreclosure activities and high unemployment hovering at about 15%
I remember when I came into this area seven years ago. It was rich with so many possibilities and potentials just waiting to be put to good use. It was and it did. I remember reading about the surplus in funds that the county tax assessor had come into from all the new construction and climbing Real Estate values.
They … (2 comments)

unemployment: DEPRESSION & TWO WORLD WARS.....MY FIRST BOSS LIVED THROUGH THIS - 02/17/11 03:09 AM
I just turned 21 was married and needed to find a job. I answered an ad in a newspaper that said "partnership without investment". It only gave a P.O box. I reluctantly answered with a brief note saying that I was young, newly married, needed a job and would work hard for a chance. Weeks passed by and I forgot all about it

unemployment: BELIEVE WHAT YOUR REAL ESTATE AGENT TELLS YOU....THEY KNOW - 02/15/11 02:16 AM
We have all seen the newspapers, blogs and reports. Everyone once in a while, there are articles that belt out...Recovery has started, Real Estate picking up, foreclosures are down, unemployment claims are slowing and jobs are being created.
The first thing to hit me is ...where is all this taking place? It isn't happening where I live. It is not happening in my county, my state and I wonder where in the country this is taking place. I understand three things right away:
1. The news agencies are trying to start a phony recovery moral booster to help the dying economy. … (2 comments)

unemployment: THE PERFECT STORM OF A RECESSION...NO ONE SEEN THIS COMING? - 02/10/11 11:45 AM
I am reading that that a recent census showed that 18.4 million homes in the United States which is about 11% are vacant because of foreclosures, bankruptcies, and a decline in demand. I am stunned that this finally happened. I actually knew this would happen 2-3 years and contacted both my State Senators for help.
Both gave a long dissertation on how well they are doing on about 40 other things and then ended with, we will certainly look into this. Well, it appears that everyone but them are looking into this and I mean looking as opposed to not doing … (10 comments)

unemployment: Congress Wont Extend Unemployment...? Let's All Take Turns Going Without - 12/02/10 05:44 AM
What is with that...? The subject requires no IQ what so ever. You don't even have to meet on the subject. Millions of people are relying on unemployment until job grow is spurred on. Until then, this is the only source of income for many.
By now, you may realize how everything is interconnected to everything else. It is complex and one something fails, it pulls down several other things at the same time...
People need income to pay bills...Bills go to pay for services and for people who supply those services.
Retailers across the Nation are depending on spending to … (8 comments)

unemployment: BANK BAIL-OUTS.....NO ONE LIKES THEM.....NO ONE - 11/30/10 03:51 AM
I had to share this brief post....I am reading that they are bailing banks out in Europe because the-Euro is not performing, Real Estate is down and their economy is weak too
I had to laugh because the people over there...the common man and woman in the street doesn't like it and is not buying it either.
In America, we went first and the people are and were upset. The idea of feeding funds to well off institutions instead of the people they serve doesn't go well with anyone....
How come they are not lowering pay and incentives and cutting costs … (6 comments)

unemployment: 2011....we need to put the "CAN" back into...... Ameri-CAN - 11/29/10 08:06 AM
I plan to take the New Year and make it do something...well NEW. I thought that is how it works. Out with old, in with New. I am reading miscellaneous articles that are saying otherwise. That makes me reflect on our current leadership...and wonder
I read and heard that gains in unemployment will not take place. Some are predicting another 2 years. I don't know about that, I just know that it wont pick-up right away. Now that's a problem needs immediate attention
I read and heard that Real Estate is expecting any gains until 2012 or more. Until then, depreciating … (6 comments)
