Owners selling their property without hiring agents are called FSBOs (For Sale By Owner). Try asking these Sellers what they do for living, and then tell them that you, probably, could easily do it. They would smile at you. They would tell you that it is very unlikely that you would be able to do it with any measure of success. DIY And Similar TV Shows There are a few good shows out there showing remodeling of homes and condos, and also kitchens and baths. FSBOs are trying to change the rules of the game. With a famous 90/10 rule, a Seller has 10% chance of being really well represented by someone, who would deserve his/her commission with no questions asked. Sellers can't surf through agents in hope of finding this one and only, they are tied in a Listing agreement, and have to pay cancellation fees if they want out.
